“Want to go behind it?” I asked, already tugging him along.

Asher chuckled, following me as I navigated the stone path that cut right behind the waterfall.

“It’s amazing!”

“It’s loud!” Asher yelled back, but his face was lit up with a smile I was definitely addicted to.

I motioned through the churning water, pointing to the east. “Our spot for cliff diving is that way,” I said, turning to look up at him. “Do you think the guys will like it?”

Asher hauled me against him, our shorts and T-shirts getting soaked from the spray of the waterfall. “The guys are the last thing on my mind right now,” he said.

I arched a brow at him. “Oh, yeah? What is on your mind right now, Mr. Silas?”

He smirked, then slanted his mouth over mine, showing me with his tongue exactly what was on his mind. Carefully, he maneuvered us, pressing me against the slick rock wall that hugged the island’s side, the water roaring behind us.

I fisted his shirt, giving everything to that kiss before he pulled his mouth away and kissed along the line of my jaw, then the shell of my ear. “I’m thinking how loud you’re going to say my name in a few minutes,” he said into my ear.

“Maybe I won’t,” I teased. “Maybe I’ll cry out husband instead.”

He leaned back, planting me with a gaze that promised trouble.

My toes curled in my shoes with that look.

“As long as you call me yours,” he said, then crushed his mouth on mine.

We were a tangle of tongues and teeth, hands and limbs, content on an island vacation that practically birthed spontaneity like this.

Two years ago, I would’ve assumed Asher would hate this sort of chaos.

Now, I knew him better. Knew how much he lived for moments like these.

These moments, plus the trials and business in between, is what we’d built the foundation of our love on. And there was nothing in the world that could shake it.

“Always,” I said, then nipped at his bottom lip. “Now, let’s see how loud we can get.”

Asher’s eyes churned before he kissed me again, and I lost myself in our happily ever after.

THE END
