“I love you so much, Colter.”

His hands rub up and down my back before making their way to my ass, giving it a good squeeze. “Do you want to see the lights in New York tonight?”

“Yes.” I kiss his face all over while he chuckles and carries me into my bedroom and then tosses me on the bed.

“Pack your bags and get dressed for going out. I want you to slip on a pretty outfit.”

“Yes, Mr. North.” I slide off the bed and shimmy off my pajama bottoms, teasing him before sauntering into the shower.

It takes a while before I’m prepared to leave my apartment, but one look from Colter and I sense that he might have a problem with my outfit. “This is going to be a long night.”

“You don’t like it?” I bat my eyelashes at him.

Snarling and shaking his head, he adjusts his cock and then grabs my waist to kiss me roughly. “You are too damn sexy and you’re mine, so I might have to castrate some motherfuckers tonight.”

“Please.” I roll my eyes because I’ve never found myself that pretty in comparison to my friends.

“Try me,” he growls, kissing my throat. He thinks I look hot, but the man knows how to wear a suit. He snagged some of his clothes that he left at his parents’ house from when he stays in town.

I nudged him off of me. “Stop, we have to go before it gets any later.”

“Fine, fine.” We slip on our winter wear and exit the building to his SUV while he steals glances my way.

Throughout the entire ride into the city, my mind is thinking about this date. What does he have planned or is he just going to wing it?

The first thing he does is pull into a parking lot and finds a space with the company logo on the spot. I realize we’re at Nox Sawyer, his job.

“We’re stopping at your work?”

“No. We’re parking my car here.” He takes my hand and leads me out of the area, waving to the nighttime guard.

“Hello, Jackson.” The older man waves back and gives a face-splitting grin.

“Mr. North, is this Ms. Bethany?” he asks, brow raising.

“Why yes she is.”

“It’s about time, ma’am. I hope you both have a pleasant evening.” I stare between the two men a bit perplexed, but I ignore it and hold back my questions for another time. Instead, I want to enjoy the evening. All I do know is he talks about me to people at his building.

We exit onto the sidewalk and I see the street littered with beautiful lights wrapped around light poles and signs. It was crowded as it always is, but what can I say. I love it at this time of the year.

Unfortunately, I don’t get to spend much time in the city. Once my classes are done for the day, I have to drive back to Holly Hills because it’s a long trip, so it’s rare for me to spend any quality time in the city. This is a fun night for me and I can’t wait to see what he has planned.

Colter leads the way to Central Park where we see several horse drawn carriages. I’m smiling because I’m sure he’s booked the tour. I’ve always wanted to go on it, but it has been out of my budget.

“We’re going on a carriage ride?”

“Yes, a full tour of holiday lights.” I throw my arms around him and kiss him wildly.

“Congratulations,” someone calls out.

I pull out of his grasp and look at the stranger with a blush. “Oh we’re not engaged,” I answer.

“Yet,” Colter grumbles. My heart and stomach jump with excitement when I turn back to him and see he’s down on one knee with a box out. “Bethany Faith, I love you so much that I find every day we’re apart unbearable, and I don’t want to spend another day apart. Will forever be my BF, my best friend, my lover, the mother of my children and wife?”

“Yes. I’ve dreamed about being your wife and never thought it would happen.”

“I always planned on marrying you, Beth. That was never a question.”

A crowd gathers around us and they begin clapping. Several people are filming us, but it doesn’t matter to me because I love Colter so much and he made sure I was dressed up so nicely. Cameras flash behind us and Colter pulls me close, protecting me from everyone.

“Thank you everyone, but my fiancée and I have a ride to catch.” He shows him the tickets on his phone before they help us onto the carriage. We get another round of applause before the driver takes off for our trip.

Colter holds me so close as I stare at the ring on my finger. “I can’t believe it. It’s so beautiful, Colter. You really want to marry me,” I sob, tears fill my eyes.
