Magnum grunted again.

Smothering her grin, she gave him a wave and headed back inside.

Chapter Thirty-Three

Since the night he went over to her place for dinner and a movie, he’d been spending more and more time over at her house. He was starting to be away from The Plant enough that he knew questions from both the task force members and his brothers were coming.

He was pretty damn sure they’ve noticed he hadn’t been around as much. Especially since he’d basically been a hermit prior to the “ultimatum.” They’d want to know what changed.

He could bullshit them by telling them the weekly group meetings and the therapist were helping.

Or…

He could introduce Liyah to the people who mattered the most to him…

His brothers.

He liked having her in his life and he only hoped it was the same for her. Though, if anyone was getting the short end of the stick in their relationship, it was her. It was much easier for him to deal with her than it was for her to deal with him.

And, bonus, if she was no longer a secret, they could use his place to “boink” since her sons were definitely cockblocks. He only stayed overnight on the weekends they were gone. That wasn’t often enough for him, so he needed to take steps to change that.

Since her boys were staying at their grandmother’s for the weekend, this weekend’s club run was the perfect time for introductions as most of his brothers would be in attendance.

It would be easier to reveal the woman in his life to everyone all at once. However, he’d do it strategically. He’d show up at the last minute and do a quick intro. Then, before everyone could recover from their shock, they’d have to roll out.

His lips formed a crooked grin. That wouldn’t give them much time to grill him.

Or pester Liyah.

He hoped his plan worked.

Would those questions come? No fucking doubt. His brothers would be all up in his business the same as Liyah’s father liked to be with her. Nosiness was part of his BAMC brothers’ nature, along with ball-busting.

Plus, with the indictments about to go down any day now, a shitstorm might be headed in their direction soon and he wasn’t sure how long it would be before his life returned to “normal.” He might end up working longer hours until the dust finally settled.

After having sex this morning, they rolled out of bed, shared the shower to “conserve water,” ate a damn good, belly-filling breakfast before heading out. He kept an eye on his watch to make sure they timed it just right.

The club run usually started at eleven, but it never left on time. Too much chatter happened before everyone got organized and into formation. It usually took several tries by Heat Miser until everyone listened to his orders. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes because everyone was too distracted.

Today, he and Liyah were the distraction as he steered his bike through the open back gate and toward the back of the line.

He had no doubt his Harley was the only noise in the back lot since all eyes followed them and all mouths were hanging open as he pulled into formation.

He was glad he had the foresight to warn Liyah about their reaction. She might feel intimidated if she wasn’t so damn confident.

She had only shrugged off his warning, covered her hair in a Diva-Do to protect it and pulled on her own helmet before throwing her leg over his bike and wrapping her arms around his waist.

No matter what the woman wore, she had a knack for always looking stylish. Even wearing a hair covering made specifically for being worn under a brain bucket. The company should use her as a damn model, she looked that good.

He swore she’d be able to pull off dressing in a gunnysack. All she had to do was add a pair of heels, some lipstick and fluff out her hair and she’d be ready to walk into a classy restaurant and order the most expensive meal on the menu.

Him? Not so much.

Proof she was so damn out of his league.

But as long as she was willing to keep him around, he was willing to stay.

They might be total opposites but for some reason they fit like two halves of a whole.

As soon as he shut down his Harley, he braced for what was to come.

Before they got bombarded, he took a quick glance around to see who all had showed up today.

He wasn’t surprised to see Finn with Mel, Decker and Sloane, Rez and Sapphire along with the club president, Axel Jamison and his wife Bella. Cross, as always, was by himself since his husband, a Dirty Angels MC member, had no desire to ride with a bunch of badge-wearing “fake” bikers.

Liyah pressed her tits into his back to murmur in his ear, “Again, it’s nice to see your MC is diverse.”
