“What about the MC they’re partnered with? They accounted for?”

“Yeah. Fortunately, the club’s still pretty small. We took out most of the players several years ago, but the cockroaches keep comin’ back. This time, I’m pretty sure Alfonso’s put one of his men in charge. I’ve got eyes on ‘em. They had a couple members in here tonight, but Venus took care of ‘em.” Thorn hesitated a moment before he continued. “Expect a visit from her.”

“Visit?” Rocket stiffened. “Christ, I feel a nightmare comin’ on.”

“Hey, man.” Thorn grinned. “What’d you expect when you made your old lady your vice president? The women smell blood in the water and are headed your way.”

I’m not sure what I expected Rocket to say or do, but the laugh he barked out wasn’t it. “If she’s even half of what you say she is, you’re lucky she’s not runnin’ your show.”

“Yeah, well, it was touch and go for a while, but I convinced her we were small potatoes. Told her if she wanted a real badass club, she needed to head to you guys or Iron Tzars.” The other man had a grin from ear to ear.

“You givin’ your blessin’ if she wants to patch in?”

“In all seriousness, I hate to lose her. Venus is one of the best assets we’ve got. But if she wants to patch into another club, I’d never stand in her way.”

“Figured she’d end up with her sister in Bones.”

“Well, it wasn’t for lack of trying. Millie threatens to take her back to Kentucky every time she visits.”

Rocket nodded to the door. “You ready?”

“Knock yourself out, brother.”

Rocket entered the room first. The women entertaining the two mafia men were pushing a steady supply of cocaine on them. Both men were partaking, laughing, and looked like they were having the time of their lives. They didn’t even notice we’d slipped in.

The girls noticed. Instead of acknowledging our presence, they kept the men focused on them, keeping Alfonso and DeLuca between us and them.

Rocket took out a phone Crush had given me and snapped a few pictures to send to Byte for positive ID on the men. The last thing we wanted was to kill the wrong men. Not that I’d personally mind. If they were part of Alfonso’s bunch -- even if they were decoys -- I could give a good Goddamn. But I wanted Alfonso dead for what he’d let DeLuca do to Cecilia.

It took less than a minute for Rocket to hear back from Byte and Crush. He nodded at me, and we each took one man. The girls didn’t make a sound. We didn’t kill them. We weren’t ready for that yet. I wanted both men to know why they were getting ready to die.

Securing them wasn’t hard. They both fought, but the drugs and the fact that both Rocket and I were much stronger and more skilled than either of these men made all the difference. Once we had them under control, I moved around in front of them. Rocket ushered the girls out and waited just inside the room until I finished this.

While this floor wasn’t as noisy as the floors below, Thorn had assured us no one was on this floor tonight, courtesy of the two men I was about to murder. I removed their gags and stood back to face both men.

“You’re getting ready to die,” I said without preamble. “I just want you to know why.”

“My men will fuckin’ kill you, you son of a bitch!” Alfonso bit out the threat while DeLuca gave me a death stare.

“Your men won’t have a clue what happened to you. As we speak, there are people setting it up to look like you left this club and went to the docks. No one will know you met your end here.”

“Do you have any idea who I am?” Marco DeLuca looked faintly amused as he questioned me, but Alfonso was just angry. I had no doubt he expected to walk out of here alive. Sucked to be him.

“Yeah. I do.” I grinned. I’m sure it wasn’t a pleasant look. “I just don’t give a fuck.” I shifted my gaze to Marco DeLuca. “You’re going to die first, since you’re the one who beat Cecilia and left her for dead. Then your friend, Ettore Alfonso over there” -- I jerked my head in Alfonso’s direction --”is gonna die for giving you the go ahead to do what you wanted with her.”

“Cecilia.” DeLuca said her name like he had no idea who I was talking about. Then he snorted. I could see the comprehension on his face. “CeCe? This is about a whore?”

“This is about a young woman you hurt.”

“A whore.” He actually chuckled and I had to restrain myself from snapping his neck right then. That would let him off too easily. “That must be one prime piece of pussy.”
