“What?” she screeched.

I could not understand what Hunter saw in this girl besides her fake-ass boobs. She had to be good in bed. That was the only possible reason I could figure why she was here.

Motioning for her to go, I said, “You’re fine. Squat and pee.”

Bonnie mumbled under her breath, and I swore she said something like, “His dick better be big.” I covered my mouth to keep from gagging.

“No one can see, right?” she called out.

I closed my eyes and silently asked for patience. “No one can see. Just pee!”

Bonnie was giving me a blow by blow of her peeing experience in the woods when the sound of a stick breaking caused me to turn and look to my left.

My heart dropped to my stomach when I saw a man standing behind a tree. The only thing I could see was that he was wearing…on my God. Was that a ski mask?

I did the only thing I could think of—I screamed my lungs out.

“Jesus Christ, what is it!?” Bonnie yelled as she tumbled back onto her ass. Then she started screaming. I turned back and the guy was gone.

Five seconds later, Rodney was running past me and after the guy.

Hunter and Ryan both raced toward me. Ryan grabbed me by the arms as Hunter skidded to a stop next to me. They both asked at the same time, “Are you okay?”

“Is she okay?” Bonnie yelled. “Are you seriously asking that? I fell on my ass. My naked ass!”

Hunter and Ryan ignored her.

“I’m fine,” I said, taking a shaky breath. “It’s okay. Go help her, Hunter.”

Hunter made his way over to Bonnie. “Shit! You fell in poison ivy.”

My mouth fell open as I stared at Bonnie, sitting on the ground with tears streaming down her face. I shook my head. “And I thought I was having a bad day.”

Ryan paced furiously in the parking lot as we waited for Blayze to get off the phone. Rodney had chased after the guy through the woods, but he’d lost sight of him, having to double back only to tell us the guy got away.

“Ryan, please stop pacing,” I said, wringing my hands together in my lap. “We’re not even sure it was him. I could have seen a hunter.”

He gave me a look. “It’s not hunting season. And last I checked, hikers don’t wear ski masks in the middle of the summer.”

I couldn’t argue with that.

Blayze walked over, shaking his head when Ryan looked at him. “They don’t have cameras at the entrance of the park.”

“Fuck!” Ryan said before slicing his hand through his hair.

“How did he know we were here?” Hunter asked.

Ryan looked around our small group. His eyes landed on Bradford and Savannah.

“I didn’t tell anyone, I swear,” Bradford said.

Savannah shook her head. “I wasn’t even aware we were coming here until this morning when Bradford said he had a surprise day planned for us.”

Guilt hit me hard, knowing I had ruined Bradford’s plans to ask Savannah to marry him. Ryan, so excited for his friend, had told me all about it yesterday.

Spinning around to face Rodney, Ryan said, “He had to have followed us.”

“There’s no fucking way we were followed. I would know, Ryan. And you know I would.”

Scrubbing his hand down his face, he shouted, “How the fuck did he find out then?”

Their exchange reminded me that I never did ask Ryan how he knew Nox and Rodney so well. I still only knew the little Blayze had told me.

Everyone looked around at one another, though none of us had an answer.

“Is your apartment bugged?”

All eyes swung toward Bonnie, who was trying desperately not to itch her ass.

“What did you say?” Blayze asked.

She shrugged. “If the guy keeps showing up everywhere, maybe he has a bug in your house. Or in your car. My father works for the FBI, and you wouldn’t believe the places they find hidden bugs and cameras.”

Ryan turned to Rodney. “We know he has the layout of the apartment. It would make sense that he bugged it.”

“I’m on it,” Rodney said, already dialing his phone. “Nox, we need to sweep Morgan’s apartment for listening devices.”

When Ryan looked at me, I put a hand to my mouth. The idea that this man could’ve been listening to everything in the apartment, for weeks, made my stomach roil.

Every conversation, every phone call, every time Ryan and I made love…

I jumped off the tailgate of Ryan’s truck, raced over to the grass, and threw up.

Ryan, my brothers, and Georgiana were instantly at my side. When I couldn’t possibly throw up anymore, I straightened and looked out into the woods. With every ounce of strength I had left, I screamed at the top of my lungs.

“Fuck you, you sick motherfucker!”

Sitting at the dining table in my apartment, I held my mother’s hand while my father tried to convince me to stay out on the ranch. He even said that Ryan and I could stay in the guest house together, if we wanted.
