I pushed off the desk and bent down over her. With my hand on hers, I said, “You deserve all the happiness in the world, Georgiana. And I know my brother deserves it as well, and the two of you complete one another. A love like the one you share is rare. Take a few deep breaths. I know a lot is going on, but remember, this is going to be one of the best days of your life—so enjoy it. And if anything goes wrong, that doesn’t change your love for Blayze, nor does it change his love for you.”

A tear slipped free and traveled down her beautiful face. I wiped it away softly. “Rose will kill you if you mess up your makeup.”

Georgiana chuckled. “I’m okay. Go get ready. I’m dying to see the dresses.”

“Okay! I’m off. Come back in ten minutes.”

I stood, and Georgiana reached for my hand. “Thank you, Morgan. I’ve always wanted a sister.”

I swallowed hard. “I’m leaving before you make me cry.”

Chapter Twenty-Eight

MORGAN

We all stood in a line with our bouquets, making last-minute adjustments on each other. There was a light knock on the door before Georgiana stepped inside.

Her eyes widened as she looked down the line. She covered her mouth with her hands, and I heard Rose whisper, “Shit, she’s going to ruin her makeup.”

“You all look so…so beautiful!”

Callie, Georgiana’s mother, rushed over to her daughter with a Kleenex. “No, sweetie, don’t cry!”

Dabbing her eyes, Georgiana walked over and hugged and kissed each one of us. She made sure to compliment each bridesmaid.

I was at the end of the line, and she pulled me into a fierce hug. “You are so damn talented.”

“Georgiana, we need to get you into your dress,” my mother said softly.

“I’ll help,” I said as I handed Rose my flowers.

Walking into the bathroom, I unzipped the bag that held both wedding gowns.

The gown for the ceremony was a lighter shade of blush than the bridesmaids’ dresses. Carefully putting the gown on, Georgiana fidgeted anxiously while Callie and I helped fasten the buttons. A photographer—two, actually—took pictures of the moment. One of the photographers was with Mary, as promised.

“This is the most beautiful dress I’ve ever seen,” Callie gushed and my mother winked at me. “The pattern of the appliquéd flowers looks so familiar to me.”

“That’s because I took a picture of the stained-glass window in our family room,” Georgiana said. “The one that you saved from the old church they were tearing down? I always loved that window. I sent the picture to Morgan so she could incorporate it into the dress.”

I had to hold back tears as I watched Callie blink rapidly, trying to do the same.

“Oh, Georgiana,” she said. “My heart can’t possibly take much more. That is such a beautiful gesture.”

Smiling, Georgiana kissed her mother on the cheek. “I love you, Mom.”

“And I love you.”

My mother broke the soft and tender moment. “Can we please see the other dress now? Please!”

Callie clapped. “Oh yes! Let the mothers see it.”

I chuckled and looked at Georgiana, who nodded.

“Fine. Here’s the other dress.”

I pulled the second dress out and held it up. My mother and Callie stared, their eyes widening. It was a stunning white ballgown with a cropped top. I had hand appliqued sage green and deep blush flowers onto the bodice of the gown, which added to the fairytale theme Georgiana was going for with the wedding.

“Oh my goodness,” Callie whispered as my mother continued to stare at the dress.

“Do you like it, Mom?” I asked nervously.

Her eyes met mine. “Like it? Morgan, I knew you were damn talented, but this is the most stunning dress I’ve ever seen.”

Georgiana grinned and nodded. “It is, isn’t it?”

There was a light knock on the door and the wedding planner poked her head in. “Ladies, we’re running behind!”

Facing Georgiana once again, I asked, “Ready?”

“I’m ready.”

“I’ll go out first. Mom, come with me?”

“Oh, of course!” my mother said, and we left Callie and Georgiana alone for a moment.

As I shut the door, I saw my mother fighting to hold back tears. “Mom, don’t bother holding back. They’re happy tears, and happy tears should never be held back.”

She pulled me into a hug and let the tears fall.

The wedding planner Georgiana had hired was on top of things. The woman walked around with an earpiece and snapping her fingers, getting things done. The bridesmaids were lined up outside the barn, waiting to start walking down the aisle. Georgiana wanted us to enter by age, with Mary, the maid of honor, walking in right before her.

Ryan was Blayze’s best man. The groomsmen were Hunter, Bradly, Joshua, and Nathan, and they were all standing in the barn already, waiting for us to enter. When I walked through the door of the barn, my gaze immediately went to Ryan. He looked so sexy my knees shook, and I had to concentrate on walking. He wore a black tux with a blush-colored vest and a black tie.
