“Down, fucker,” he muttered to his dick.

Things started to get quieter and he breathed out a sigh. He stirred the scrambled eggs. He’d already made some fruit salad and the bagels were toasting.

The bedroom door opened a few minutes later and he grew tense for some reason. He’d had a nightmare last night . . . and they’d both helped him through it.

He’d stayed in the bed.

He hadn’t hurt her.

It was like the boulder on his shoulder had shrunk to more like a medium-sized rock. However, he still wasn’t sure how things would be this morning.

What if she decided she just wanted Remy? He was obviously way more stable, more experienced, had his shit together.

Nah . . . no one could resist him.

Plus, this was Isa. She loved him.

And then her arms went around him from behind and he breathed in her sweet coconut scent.

“Morning, Tink,” he said in a husky voice.

Fuck. His hard-on hadn’t gone down yet. He should have gone and taken care of it before she’d come out.

“Morning, Ki-Ki.”

He loved that she was calling him that more.

“What you cooking?”

Hmm, she was close to Little headspace. That could be a fun way to spend the day.

“Scrambled eggs, bagels, and fruit salad.”

“Yum!”

He turned off the stove and spun around, lifting her up and placing her on the counter. Reaching over, she grabbed a strawberry and popped it into her mouth.

“Delicious.”

He raised his eyebrows. “Not as delicious as you.”

Isa was wearing her pajamas, her hair was wild, she hadn’t showered, and there was a look of such happiness coming from her.

She was glowing.

“You’ve never looked so beautiful,” he told her.

“What? No! I’m a mess.” She attempted to pat down her hair and he took her hands and placed them in her lap.

“You could never be a mess.” Leaning forward, he kissed her lightly.

“Oh no!” she cried, pulling back.

What was it? Didn’t she want him kissing her?

“I still have morning breath!” She put her hand over her mouth. “Dontkissme.”

Loki shook his head at her ridiculousness and tugged her hand away from her mouth. “You don’t have morning breath and you won’t ever hide your lips from me, understand?”

Her eyes widened and her hand dropped. “Wow, that was super-hot.”

“It was?”

“Yep.” She wiggled on the counter. “Maybe we should leave breakfast and go . . . get it on.” She waggled her eyebrows and winked at him with exaggeration.

He burst into laughter.

“What? What is it? Damn it! That was my best go at seducing you. It didn’t work?”

“You’re a nut,” he told her, leaning his forehead against hers. “And I love you.”

It came out of him without thought. It wasn’t as though he hadn’t told her that he loved her before. But this was different.

He. Loved. Her.

And she sucked a breath in, as though she could hear the difference.

“I love you too.”

He took her mouth again and she melted under him. He sensed Remy getting close to them and drew back. The other man was smiling, which surprised him.

Loki searched for any sign of jealousy. Or irritation. There was nothing.

“This all looks delicious,” Remy said. “Including the food.”

Isa giggled.

“I’m starving,” Remy said.

“Help yourself,” Loki said, moving around the kitchen to get the bagels and set out the eggs.

Isa handed Remy a plate, then she sat at the island. He put some eggs, fruit and a bagel on it. Then he placed it back in front of her.

She gaped at him. “That plate was for you.”

“For me to fill it with food for you. Eat up.”

She blushed.

Loki poured them all coffee. He made Isa’s how she liked it but left Remy’s black for him to fix. He noticed the other man didn’t put anything else in it before taking a sip.

“Eww, how can you drink it black?” she asked as she took a sip of hers and sighed with pleasure.

“I guess I just got used to it this way. Eat.” This time it was said more firmly.

Isa’s eyes widened, but she picked up her fork. “What are we gonna do today?”

“I thought we could work on the treehouse,” Loki said. “If you didn’t mind helping?”

Remy gave him a surprised look. “Yeah. I could do that.”

“Goody! I’ll help too.” Isa clapped her hands. “Loki got me a builder’s belt. I’m great at using the power saw.”

Remy’s face grew alarmed.

“She’s not allowed to use the power saw,” Loki said firmly.

Her lip dropped in a pout. “Not fair. Loki won’t let me do much. He let me measure some stuff, but the tape measure has it out for me!”

Loki snorted.

Isa picked up her mug and took a sip, peering down at the cup in surprise when she realized it was empty.

“Who drank all the coffee?”

“Eat some more of your eggs,” Loki told her as he took the mug and refilled it.

He also grabbed her sippy cup which he’d cleaned this morning and filled it with water. He put the sippy cup back into her hand as she explained to Remy her ideas for the treehouse, her hands flying through the air.
