Remy shook his head, but didn’t say anything. He was giving Loki space to care for Isa.
Fuck. Loki was starting to realize that Remy was a much better man than him.
“I promise.”
“Good girl,” he murmured. “You’re a good girl, Tinkerbelle. Come here.” He helped her sit up so she was on his lap. Her legs were straddling his thighs as he drew her into his chest, rubbing her back. He knew about aftercare. He wasn’t sure what part he liked more. Spanking her or hugging her after.
“Such a good girl. I’m so proud of you.” He kissed the top of her head. “Are you all right? It wasn’t too much?”
“I’m good,” she whispered. “It wasn’t too much.”
Thank God. He’d hate to think he ever pushed her too far. She had a safeword, but still . . . it wouldn’t make him feel good.
“You’re mine. You’ve always been mine. But now you’re mine in every way. Not ever letting you go.”
She slumped against him, snuggling into him as he ran his hand up and down her back.
Remy got up and disappeared into her bedroom. When he returned, he was carrying a pink fluffy blanket that Loki hadn’t seen before. He placed it over her body.
Loki gave him a nod of thanks. Remy grabbed the plate with her half-eaten sandwich, carrying it to the kitchen.
Loki sat there with his girl until he heard a small sucking noise. He peered down to find her sucking on her thumb. Where did her pacifier go?
Remy returned and picked it up off the floor.
Was the man a freaking mind-reader?
“She looks like she’s ready for bed,” Remy commented, running his hand over her hair.
Loki nodded and stood with her cradled against his chest. “Come on, Tink. Let’s get you to bed. You’ve been such a brave girl.”
Growing up, she’d gotten little praise from her dad or Judy and he knew she lapped it up now. He paused by Remy. The other guy had been nothing but giving tonight. And Loki couldn’t be selfish.
“You wanna say good night to Remy?”
Remy’s eyes widened and then a look of gratitude filled his face. Which made Loki feel slightly bad. If this was going to succeed, then he would have to work on sharing. And communication.
Remy bent down to kiss Isa’s cheek, whispering good night to her. Then he straightened and nodded to Loki. “I’ll get going. I’ll talk to you both soon.”
Loki watched him turn away. Part of him didn’t want him to go.
Was it really possible he was a switch?
And if he was . . . could he really submit to Remy?

Loki sat in a corner of the Wishing Well and nursed his beer. He glanced up as Easton took a seat opposite him.
“Hey,” Loki said.
Easton raised an eyebrow. “What’s up with you? I’m supposed to be the morose fucker in this relationship, not you.”
Loki snorted. “What? The rest of us aren’t allowed off days?”
Easton frowned. “What’s wrong?”
“I kissed Isa the other day.”
Easton stared at him in shock. If anyone knew the significance of that, it was Easton. He was the only one who knew how Loki had felt about Isa for all these years.
The only one who knew that he’d planned to make her his . . . before his world had gone to hell.
“I still think about them. Every day.”
“I know, man.” Easton had been part of another unit that had been first on the scene. He’d had friends who had died that day, too. So if anyone knew how Loki felt, it was him.
He’d rarely seen Easton smile once since they’d all died. Easton had come home a different man. Loki always thought that Easton was in a better place than him.
Now, he wasn’t so sure. At least Loki had always had Tink. Who the fuck did Easton have?
“If you need to talk about what you saw that day, I’m here. It’s not good to bottle that shit up.”
Easton shot him a look.
“I know. I know.” That was all he’d done for the last few years. Bottle shit up until it exploded out.
“Fuck, that must have been one hell of a kiss,” Easton said dryly.
“Um, you could say that. It was more than just a kiss.”
Easton’s eyebrows rose. “Uh, not that I’m not happy for you, but you sure you want to tell me the details? Because I didn’t peg you for that guy.”
Loki scowled. “Fuck off, asshole. I’m not telling you I had sex with her.”
Cuddled her until she fell asleep, yes.
Went back to his room and lay awake half the night, yep.
When he had fallen asleep, his dreams hadn’t been filled with blood and death for once.
Nope, they’d been filled with submission and dominance and happy ever afters.
“Then what are you trying to tell me?” Easton tilted his head. “And I didn’t think you planned to move things forward with Isa because you were worried you couldn’t look after her properly. That you wouldn’t be able to sleep in a bed with her without hurting her. All of which I think is bullshit.”
