On the other side of the wall, Barry laughed at some cheesy joke from a show he’d seen a million times before as I wrapped my arm around Shale, and pulled her closer.

“You know he actually suggested that we get a bigger place?” I asked, making Shale look up at me.

“He didn’t.”

“Oh, he did. I reminded him that he has his own place. He said it wasn’t as fun over there.”

“He’s lonely,” Shale said. “I feel for him. I think, if I hadn’t been working sixteen hour days, the loneliness would have gotten to me over time too. And he works, what, six or seven hours a week?”

“Not lately.” Not that he needed to. I’d looked into his stats for his streaming channel. And on the conservative side, he was making twenty grand a month passively. Anything new he put out just added to that. Considering he lived in a crummy apartment building and didn’t seem to live very lavishly, I had to imagine most of that money was in the bank. He could afford a few days or weeks off.

“We need to find him some friends.”

“We need to get him laid.”

“Getting laid isn’t going to solve all his issues.”

“It’ll help,” I said.

“Maybe. Until he catches feelings and is a little too much for the girl, and she drops him. Can you imagine a heartbroken Barry on your couch?” she asked.

“I can hear the emo soundtrack now,” I said. “Fine. How the fuck do you find a grown-ass man friends?”

“Gamer or comic book conventions?” she suggested. “Between the two genres, there’s like one practically every month. I mean, with his following, it’s weird that he doesn’t go to any of them.”

“We’d probably have to take him to the first one,” I grumbled.

“I think it’d be fun. Come on. You don’t play any video games?”

“Not in years,” I said. “Though I did as a teen.”

“I’m gonna kick your ass when we play tomorrow then,” she said, giving me a prematurely triumphant smile.

“You think so, huh?”

“Yep.”

“And what do you get if you win?” I asked.

To that, her hand slid down my chest, my stomach, then placed her hand over my cock.

“This,” she said, getting a rumbling noise out of me. “But for the record, I get that if I lose too,” she said.

“You can have that any time you want,” I said. Save for right then. With fucking Barry giggling at his show on the other side of the wall. “What?” I asked when her face went from playful to pensive in a blink.

“Okay,” she said, taking a deep breath as she hooked a leg over my hip, then climbed over to straddle me, looking down at me with a serious face. “I need to ask you a question because I’m trying to, like, be a grown-up about this and shit,” she said, her hands pressed to my stomach, and it was really fucking hard to think straight.

“Sucks having to be a grown-up and shit,” I said, my hands going to her thighs. “What do you want to ask?”

“It’s just that… a couple of times today, ah, people have sort of insinuated that we…”

“Are together?” I filled in to ease the pained look on her stupidly pretty face.

“Yeah, that,” she said, nodding.

“What’s the question?” I asked.

“If, you know, you were just going along with what they said because it was easier?”

“Easier?” I scoffed, then let out a little chuckle. “Doll, you have no fucking idea what a headache dating you is going to cause,” I told her. “I am about to be inundated with drop-ins from family and friends, fielding endless fucking texts, and demands to meet you. Not dating you would be a fuckuva lot easier,” I added, fingers massaging her thighs a bit. “But I’m gonna go ahead and deal with that shit.”

“So… we are dating?” she asked.

“You’ve practically fucking moved into my place, Shale,” I reminded her.

“But there were… extenuating circumstances.”

“And yet your ass will be staying here from this point on.”

“Oh, really?” she asked, narrowing her eyes at me for being so presumptuous.

“Yeah. No way your apartment is big enough for the two of us,” I said. It was just then that Barry laughed again. “Three of us,” I clarified, getting a big smile out of her. “So, you’re not going anywhere.”

“You don’t strike me as a commitment type of guy,” she said.

“I’m not. Which is how you can be sure that I’m serious about this. And you,” I said, shrugging.

Her hands slid up my chest as she lowered down to seal her lips over mine.

Soft and sweet for a while, but growing with intensity.

“Don’t start something you can’t finish,” I grumbled, my cock already fucking aching with need.

To that, she smiled devilishly down at me before she disappeared under the sheets, freeing my cock, and sucking it into her mouth.
