And I make sure it's really fucking obvious when I pull her in and place my lips on hers. She kisses me back like I'm the only man on the fucking planet.

Pretty sure that's going to eliminate any confusion.

When she comes up for air, she laughs as I yank her right off her feet and up into my lap on the barstool. “Jeez, I wasn't gone that long.”

“Any time away from me is too fucking long, baby. You could make a dead man hard.”

She wets her lips and looks at me uncertainly. “Aren’t they already stiff?”

It takes me a moment before I realize that the joke just came out of her mouth, and I laugh. Jesus Christ. Squeezing her to me with one arm, I raise the other and flag down Chef. “Hey, you know how to make a Blue Hawaiian?”

His look is pure disdain. “The fuck, Devil? You starting to drink girly drinks? Should I get you a little umbrella? Swirly straw?”

“Shut the fuck up. Do you or not?”

“Do I? Please. Don't fucking insult me.” Then he turns to Summer and suddenly his tone's all sunshine. “He wants a Blue Hawaiian, but what do you want, honey?”

Summer looks at me. “What's your favorite?”

Chef rolls his eyes. “Never mind. I know it. Back in a few.”

As he turns away, Summer returns her attention to me, doing that lip chewing she does when she's uncertain. “Do I look okay? I did my best.”

I squeeze her closer. “If you’re worried, I could carry you right back to my room and show you exactly how fucking okay you look, but it’s time for you to see more of the club. You’ve met some of the girls, but bouncing babies on your knee isn’t exactly what we’re known for.”

For a moment she looks at me, then she smiles all cute. “You know I don't really care about anyone else here as long as I have you, Preacher and Crash, right?”

“I know, baby, but all these guys? They’re family. This isn’t a poker club, we’re sworn to each other.”

“Finally settling down, Devil?” comes a question from behind.

I spin the stool around with Summer in my lap so she can see the tall guy that just showed up. “This is Summer. Summer, this is King. He’s our VP.”

Summer blinks, then snorts, which she turns into a cough almost immediately.

“She okay?” King looks at her questioningly, then takes a drag from his beer.

She nods while she pounds her chest with her fist. “Yep, good. Just um… wrong tube, I think.”

Wild Child and Badass come by to drag King into a discussion about some pallets of product coming in tomorrow, and then we’re alone again. He sure got more busy once he stepped up.

“You could've warned me!” She bats my arm.

“Now you know why I fucking laughed when you told me the name of your favorite dog.” I shrug. “It’s not like your King is a fucking Chihuahua or something, right?”

“No, he’s a Pitbull.”

“See? That’s fine, then.”

Jewel comes over with our drinks and pointedly puts the Blue Hawaiian with a blue umbrella in front of me, and the scotch in front of Summer. “I’m just following orders.”

I take the Blue Hawaiian and raise it in a toast to her, before she rolls her eyes and walks off to help someone else. Joining in, Summer takes my scotch. “Let's find the guys.”

Summer nods, and I help her down from my lap. She gives her glass a sniff before trying a sip. Once her coughing stops, she hands it to me. “I think I'll stick with the Blue Hawaiian.”

“Good choice.”

I take lead, squeezing through the crowd and making a path for her to follow. A couple of the guys have gotten pissed at each other and they're swinging.

Summer squeals as I pull her out of the way right before they come crashing by, landing on the floor and taking hits at each other. Jesus fucking idiots. They could be drinking and finding a slut to warm their bed, and instead they're gonna fight?

I'm still shaking my head when we find Crash and Preacher shooting pool. “Rack ‘em up! Let’s play teams and teach our little girlie here how it’s done.”

It quickly turns into a fourway, but with clothes on this time. Summer's never played, but we have a fucking great time teaching her how, taking turns to get behind her, real close and then showing her exactly how to handle the stick. Not sure she learns too much about pool, but no one's fucking complaining.

Crash lifts his beer like a toast towards the far corner. “Don’t look now or you might see some pale moons rising.”

Summer turns and gasps. I don't even have to look over my shoulder to guess at what she's seeing. These parties get a little wild, especially in the darker corners.
