“I do.”

“I thought so. I bet you miss your siblings.”

“Sometimes,” she admits, and I open my eyes to find her watching me.

Instead of walking away, though, she’s stretching. She pulls her gaze from me and bends forward, her shorts riding up her thighs until the bottom of her ass is showing. She squats down then, and the amount of skin I see, even in cold water, has me burning up. I hiss out a breath as she continues to stretch her legs, little peeks of her ass and inner thighs taunting me. I look around to see some of the guys watching her, and I glare.

“Hey,” I call out, and they look at me. I make a cut-it-out gesture, and they all laugh but look away.

When she drops to the floor in the splits, I’m breathless as she reaches forward, really stretching her back and inner thighs. I lick my lips as I watch her, her eyes closing as she gets a deeper stretch. She goes to all fours, and while she may feel she’s only stretching, she’s making it hard for me to breathe. I’m thinking of all the possible ways I could take her. I could lie on my back and have her drop that sweet center down to my mouth. I could fill her from behind, my chest to her back as I fuck her. I could have her over me as I finger her deeply and kiss that sweet mouth of hers. I would devour her if I had the chance to be underneath her.

My heart is pounding and skipping beats all in one as I watch her, fully engrossed in how fucking sexy and tantalizing her stretches are. When she gets up, bending forward for one more stretch, I force myself to stop watching her. I know she’d freak if she saw I was. And also, as much as I believe she wants me, I wonder if that’s just my arrogance speaking.

“See ya,” she says, and I open my eyes to see her walking away.

“Have a good day,” I call to her, and she looks back at me, her eyes dark as a little grin pulls at her lips. Everything inside me tightens and then blows up. It’s hard to believe it’s just my arrogance when she looks at me like that. When she makes me feel how I feel right now.

I don’t know if she likes me, but I sure as hell like her. So, what do I do? Do I make a move, do I complicate our living situation, or do I wait for her to make a move? I’ve flirted with her, left and right and all around, and she hasn’t done the same back. It’s really fucking with my confidence. But surely, fucking surely, she’s into me.

Those thoughts keep playing in my head as I finish my bath and then head to the locker room. Everyone is gathered in there, and I greet my teammates as I walk through. “Ready to get hitched, Wes?”

Wes beams, and I notice the nervousness in his eyes. “Bro, I’m just hoping she’ll come down the aisle.”

Aiden snorts. “After all this planning, she’ll beat you down there. She’s ready to marry you.”

Everyone laughs at that. I sit down between Wes and Flynn to put on my gear. “You’re coming tonight, right?” Flynn asks.

“Duh,” I answer. “Free booze and entertainment? Hell yeah.”

Wes chuckles. “I’m dreading it. Apparently Emery is in a mood.”

“When is she not?” Flynn asks, and I nod.

“I hear that,” Wes answers, shaking his head. “But no shit. I think she’s moving to California.”

That’s crazy. “For real?”

“Yeah, they offered to buy her company, but now they’re wanting her to move out there and work with them to develop more software for law enforcement.”

“She told me about it, but I didn’t think she’d go.”

“She’s trying to get away from Quinn,” Wes adds as he tapes up his shin guards.

“Knowing him, he’ll probably follow her out there,” Flynn says with a shake of his head. “He is dead set on her being with him.”

“Everyone is,” Wes says, taping his other leg. “And all she’ll say is that she doesn’t want to be tied down, even if it’s to her best friend. Stella is fed up with her, and I am too ’cause she’s so moody.”

“I mean, I get it. Who wants to be tied down when you can fuck who you want and do what you want?” I say, and Wes gives me a look.

“Me,” he answers, and Flynn scoffs. “Playing the field, dealing with people, gets old after a while, especially when you find someone who just completes you.”

I shrug. “Hey, to each their own.” I put on my chest guard as I look around the room. Boon has a smirk on his face since he is happily married, as does Aiden. I mean, I get it, I do. But I also get what Emery is feeling. Why settle down when there is so much out there?
