Part of Tillie wanted to wrap her arms around Luca and never let go, and she was a little afraid at the same time of those feelings he was evoking within her. Luca confused her.

On the one hand, he was this cold, aloof businessman who didn’t give a damn about anyone or anything. All he wanted to do was make money. She knew there was a whole other side to him. A side she hadn’t gotten the pleasure to truly know, at least not yet. The part of him that wanted her to be a wife to him, the one who was willing to hold back his instincts in tearing the company apart. From what her brother had said, Luca was an astute businessman, and David believed her husband could do anything.

Why did he have to tear up so many businesses?

She knew it wasn’t her place to question him.

Luca had made a life for himself. He was a wealthy man, and if Internet sources were to be believed, then he didn’t have to work a day in his life. Yet, he came to her father’s and brother’s rescue. She knew it had come with a cost, but also from what David had told her, their father was more than happy with removing their Uncle Ed. None of them had known what he’d been doing and how he’d been abusing the company’s name and money.

Staring at her husband as he reached out and turned off the shower, Tillie couldn’t help but be confused as she knew every part of her being wanted to know more about him. She was excited to know every single detail, and this wasn’t forced upon her. Luca excited her, made her curious, and she wanted this marriage to work.

She’d seen the press with their suspicions about how this marriage would go, and she wanted them all to be wrong. No one knew her, and they didn’t know what she was capable of. She had a feeling none of them knew who the real Luca was either. They were all just speculating.

He turned off the shower and she stood, silently watching him as he reached for a towel. Tillie didn’t know what to do or say for fear of ruining the moment. Luca had already given her a screaming orgasm, and now she wanted to feel him inside her.

He climbed out of the stall and then reached for her hand. She slid hers into his without any judgment, giving herself to him with ease.

Neither of them spoke a word, and Luca took over, drying her body. They stood in the bathroom, and each stroke, each touch, only served to heighten her arousal for him. She didn’t care that he had just brought her to a beautiful orgasm.

I’m addicted.

There couldn’t be any other word for it. When it came to Luca, she was addicted to him and his touch. This was insane. She barely knew him, and yet she wanted to keep feeling his hands all over her body, and to explore his body the way he explored hers.

She waited, expecting, but Luca simply walked her toward the bedroom, helped her into the bed, and then joined her. They didn’t have sex, and for Tillie, she couldn’t help but wonder why.

Chapter Seven

Luca closed the latest file and placed it back into the pile. He had already let go of the PA who caused Tillie some trouble when she arrived for lunch the other day. Running a hand down his face, he sat back in his chair and allowed himself a few seconds to relax. Once again, his thoughts drifted toward Tillie. His wife.

From the moment she stepped into his office several months ago, she had been causing him nothing but trouble. He’d never been this controlled by a woman before, or acted totally irrational. Staring down at his wedding ring, he shook his head. This was insane. Luca had promised himself many years ago that he would never make himself vulnerable. Growing up without being wanted had been as vulnerable as he was willing to go.

Every night he went home, he did so with the intention of not allowing Tillie to get close to him, and each time he failed. He didn’t like any distance between them.

Running a hand down his face, he clenched his hand with the wedding ring into a fist, and took a deep breath. There was a sudden knock on his office door, and he sat up, pressing the tips of his fingers together, and told them to enter. He had yet to find himself a new PA, not that he needed one. He was quite happy to do most of the work himself.

Much to his surprise, David entered his office.

“Hi,” David said.

He looked toward his brother-in-law, he’d not spoken to him much other than work. Even at his wedding to Tillie, they hadn’t socialized.
