We then showered together and that is when he went into the closet, pulled out this light blue ankle length dress he bought me a few days ago along with a bunch of other summer dresses and told me to put it on with the blue jean jacket and to meet him downstairs. Once we had eaten breakfast, we got into the truck and that is when he told me we were going to spend the morning at the State Fair.

Excited could not begin to cover how happy I was. Everything was so wild and over-the-top. Especially the rides. I was able to talk Jasper into going on three of them with me. Big mistake. By the third one I thought my stomach was topsy turvy like one of the old dogs we had whose stomach had flipped over. Luckily, he was smart enough to not let me eat yet.

The food was delicious. I have never had fair food before but oh my gosh is it sinful. Fried corn, pickles, Oreos and hotdogs. Did I mention the funnel cake with ice cream and strawberry syrup? Yes, my stomach is going to hate me in the morning.

“I’m glad you loved it, baby. Is there anything else you want to do? Anywhere you want to go?” With my arm through his, I pull on him, so he stops walking. He turns and looks at me, pulling me into his chest like he is guarding me against some invisible force. His grip on my hips is having an effect on me and it is jumbling my thoughts.

“You are an amazing man. Do you know that?” He blushes slightly before he hides it by dipping his head down. “I mean it, Jas. From the moment we said I do you have made me feel safe and wanted. You show me every day that my thoughts and dreams are important to you. That is something I have never had. I often wonder if I am doing enough for you.” I give him the truth of the thoughts that often go through my mind. His face shows shock and then turns determined.

Cupping my face in both his hands, he leans down and kisses me chastely, but it is no less a turn on and romantic. “You give me everything just by being my wife. I felt the connection just by reading your letter, Sadie. Something in your words told me we were soulmates. I just want to make you happy and have a family with you, baby. That is all I need.” I touch his face, holding one of his cheeks in my hand. He leans into it before kissing the palm of my hand and putting it on his chest over his heart.

“I love you, Jasper. I am so in love with you, and I feel like the luckiest woman alive to be your wife.” He says nothing. His hand wraps around the back of my head and he pulls my mouth to his. This kiss is anything but chaste and I could care less. Everything around me fades and stops existing at this moment. He pulls back when I begin to moan and puts his forehead on mine.

“Thank God, baby. I have been waiting for you to feel what I do. I didn’t want to scare you with the level of my obsession with you. You are in my fucking veins, baby. Everything about you does it for me. The simple, quiet innocent part of you that world gets and the greedy vixen I get in bed that climbs on top of my prick while I’m still sleeping to take what she needs. I love you too, baby.” We stand in the middle of the fairground, hugging one another, taking a second to soak in our declaration and then it hits me.

“I do have something I want to do.”

“Anything.”

“I want to get my ears pierced.” His eyebrows raise in shock and then he smiles.

“I assume you want to go with your sisters?”

“Yes.”

“Alright. Let me find a place I trust with your precious skin, and I will make the appointment for you. Is that okay?” I love this man so much. Look at him trying to protect me from an ear piercing.

“That sounds perfect.”

We make it home about an hour or so later, right after supper and just in time for me to make the ride with my sisters down the pasture to where we are making the gardens. “We weren’t sure you were going to be back in time.” Ada says, grabbing the keys to the gator.

“We apologize ladies. Your sister and I wanted to go have some fun, but we would never miss our duties either.” He assures my sisters.

“Ignore Ada. Something is going on with her and Geeb. She has been moody all day.” Worried, I glance in her direction and see she is already sitting by herself in the gator waiting for the girls. Normally I would ride Honey out to the pasture, making sure to give her some exercise, but right now I think my sister needs me. She has definitely been different since she and Geeb were married almost two weeks ago.
