Which meant he was so fucked if she still had those walls a mile high. There were times she was open with him and others when he sensed she was hiding, both from him and her own inner pain. Although he had more of his life to repair before he let go of his own burdens, that didn’t stop his feelings for her from growing beyond his expectations. He was flying without a safety net if she didn’t reciprocate his feelings.

There was no describing the incredible experience that was SUMMIT One Vanderbilt and the Air exhibit. The day was beautiful, the sky crystal clear, allowing for expansive views of the east side of Manhattan. Cassidy was already light-headed from the physical and dimensional mind manipulation of the exhibit, courtesy of the mirrored and glass views surrounding them, on the floor, the walls, and the ceiling. Though she’d wanted to step out onto Levitation, the transparent boxes that protruded from the side of the building, she was already disoriented, and the vertigo she felt wouldn’t allow her to be that brave.

But the entire thirty minutes of wandering the exhibit and staring out at the skyline with Dash by her side had been utterly transcendent. She’d kept an eye on the time, wanting to take in as much as she could before Arthur returned for them and the exhibit reopened to the public.

Standing by a floor-to-ceiling window, she turned to Dash, overwhelmed that he’d listened when she’d mentioned wanting to see this exhibit. The tickets had been sold out, and she never thought she’d be able to come.

Yet here they were, and in the midst of his personal drama. “Thank you. I don’t know how to express how much this meant to me.” She looked at his sculpted jaw, his dancing blue eyes, and the pleasure on his handsome face. God, he was stunning.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying it. It’s been incredible to see.” He backed her against the glass, his hands on the windows, blocking her in.

His gaze darkened as he stepped closer, his lower body flush with hers. His cock was hard and he rubbed up against her, letting her know just what she did to him. Desire rushed through her and her panties grew damp. It was safe to say he did the same thing to her.

“Arthur is going to be back any minute,” she said in a husky voice she barely recognized.

“I know. And there are probably security cameras around somewhere, so we won’t be able to fuck high above the city skyline and give new meaning to the Mile-High Club,” he said, clearly disappointed.

Her lips twitched in amusement but her pussy clenched, empty and equally unsatisfied.

Dipping his head, he captured her lips with his and treated her to a deep, tongue-tangling kiss, leaving no doubt in her mind what he wanted before coming up for air. God, she wanted him, too.

She entwined her arms around his neck, meeting his gaze. “Nobody’s ever done something like this for me before. I mean, spur of the moment, you had a sold-out exhibit shut down so we could spend time here.” There were perks of being famous and then there was this.

He rubbed his nose against hers. “If I can’t use my rock star status to make you happy, what good is it?”

She blinked and sucked in a breath. “You mean that, don’t you?”

“Of course I do.”

Speechless, she was at a loss. Every emotion she’d been holding back came rushing through her at once, as dizzying as the exhibit around them. She loved this man.

She loved him. She admired his generosity, his depth of feelings for those he cared about, and even his failings and desperation to fix the wrongs in his life. She adored watching him sing and getting lost in his music. And she loved the way he lived his life, so free yet so aware that he had an abundance and needed to give back.

She’d fallen deeply in love with Dash Kingston.

Unaware of her sudden revelation of feelings, he stepped back and adjusted himself, causing her to smile despite the thoughts rushing through her mind.

“Why don’t you take some more pictures before Arthur comes back? I wouldn’t want you to miss out on having the memories for posterity.”

She couldn’t catch her breath, but he’d given her something else to concentrate on, and she latched on to it like a lifeline. “Come here for some photos then.”

He turned and stood next to her, backs to the windows, his arm around her, smiling, kissing her cheek, and laughing as she snapped a couple of selfies with the clouds and the entire cityscape behind them.

They finally made their way back to the limo, both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. She lay her head on his shoulder and ended up dozing on the way back to the Hamptons. He dropped her off at her house because he needed to meet with the band and fill them in on the details of his firing Dean. And she was happy for the time alone to process her thoughts and emotions.
