“This doesn’t seem like something you would like,” I said when we were alone.
“How so?” He guided me to the edge of the ship, where he held me close.
“Well, you’re not much of a talker.”
“You have to advertise yourself without asking anyone to buy anything.”
“I see. So walking around with a pretty girl accomplishes that?”
“Pretty girl?” His eyebrows furrowed, his features becoming more handsome as he focused. “You’re a woman, not a girl. And not just any woman—but my woman.” He pulled me close, his eyes glancing down at my lips. When I was fully scooped up in his embrace, he kissed me, kissed me in a way that made me feel weak from head to toe.
I clung to him because I didn’t want it to end. I wanted to be back on his yacht, alone together in his quarters, rocking with the waves as they gently lapped at the hull of the ship. My hand found his cheek and the scruff of his jawline, and I kissed him longer than I should.
He let it go on like he didn’t care who saw.
When I pulled away, I stayed close, my face practically touching his. I got lost in his eyes, lost in the way he looked at me like I was the only thing that mattered. I’d left Grave because I wanted to find this, a man who made me feel things without being paid to feel them. Cauldron wasn’t exactly what I wanted in a man—he had his issues—but my heart had made its decision. I think his heart had too. “You think there’s somewhere we could go…?”
That boyish smile made me melt into a puddle. “I know a place.”
There were five different levels to the ship, so we wandered into different hallways until we found an unoccupied room. With my dress pulled to my waist and my thong between my knees, he took me from behind at the edge of the bed, bottoms at his thighs. His hands on my hips, he nailed me from behind, fucking me hard enough to make the bed frame tap against the wall.
I tried to be quiet, but he took me so good I found myself clenching my jaw to suppress my screams. I wanted to shove my face into the duvet to muffle my moans, but that would ruin the makeup that took me hours to do.
I’d been on the verge of a climax from staring at him all evening, so it was a relief when I got to release it. The second I hit my trigger and slammed my body back onto his dick as hard as I could, he released too, unable or unwilling to suppress his moan.
We came down from the high slowly, and then once it was over, we put our clothes back on as if nothing had happened.
“I’ll go to the bathroom upstairs,” he said. “You can take the one down here. We’ll meet at the bar.”
“Alright.”
He gave me a kiss before he walked out.
I waited a moment to make sure no one spotted us leaving the room at the same time. I wanted to take my time anyway because my cheeks were sore from grinning at strangers for the last hour. I almost wished I had a stick of gum to chew and loosen up the muscles in my mouth.
After I smoothed out my dress, I went in search of a bathroom. I finally found one, and after waiting for three women to use it first, I got inside and saw that I looked exactly as I felt—thoroughly fucked. I fixed my hair with my fingertips then cleaned up my makeup with the folded corner of a tissue. My purse didn’t have any extra supplies, so I had to make do with what I had. My lips looked chalk-white without my lipstick, but Cauldron had kissed it all off.
I left the bathroom and made my way through the throng, trying to get to the stairs so I could meet Cauldron near the bar.
A man stepped into my path.
None other than Grave.
And he looked pissed. His eyes immediately darted down to the necklace around my neck, the one he’d used to keep me in line like a treat for a dog. When his eyes flicked back to me, they were dilated like he was on cocaine. “How do you not see it?”
I should just walk away and get back to Cauldron as quickly as possible, but my curiosity was piqued. “See what?”
“That he’s playing you for a goddamn fool. Maybe I’m not the best man, but at least I actually give a shit about you. He’s doing all of this just to piss me off—and it’s working.” His eyes dilated a little more. “He only wants you because I want you. If I didn’t, you would be worthless to him.”
