“I’ll start with the truffle chips and then I’ll have the bourbon soak steak and Cajun seasoned veggies and potatoes,” I say, my mouth watering from just the sound of the meal.
“I’ll have the same but as the surf and turf,” Bishops says.
“Would you like the shrimp or the lobster, sir?”
“Give me the lobster tail and garlic-buttered shrimp.”
“Yes, sir. Anything else?”
“No. That will be all for now.”
The guy takes off for the kitchen. I find it exciting that we can see this chef from here. Our waiter hands over our order and the chef gets to work on making our meal.
I turn back to Bishop with a huge smile on my face. He’s watching me closely with a smile of his own. I can’t remember the last time I felt this giddy on a date.
Bishop lifts his glass of wine to his lips and takes a sip. He then places it back down, not taking his eyes off me once. The intensity in his gaze almost causes me to squirm in my seat.
“Where were you planning to live when you returned to Cali?”
I sigh. “I have no idea. I was going to move back into my old bedroom at my parents’ if they would have me. Staying with Legend is out, but Reminisce is an option. Her place is where I shipped all my things.”
“What about staying with me? No pressure. Just know it’s an option.”
I’m a little caught off guard. I never thought about moving in with him. Things are still so new. I don’t think my parents will have a problem with me staying with them until I find a place, but staying with Bishop might be a huge problem.
“Can I think about it,” I murmur.
“Of course. Like I said, it’s just an offer. I have plenty of space and I’d love to have you with me, but it’s nothing we need to decide at this moment.”
“Thank you for always being concerned and offering your help.”
He waves me off. “That reminds me. Your car arrived at my place this morning. It will be in my garage until we return.”
“Well, look at that. I already have something there.”
He grins. “If I have it my way, your things will fill my closet and you will call my space your home.”
“Boy, you never waste time.” I tilt my head at him. “What if I’m the psycho here and I worked my way onto your bus to stalk you and worm my way into your life?”
“Yelp, I’m a goner because I’ve fallen hook, line, and sinker.”
“Seriously, you should be more careful,” I chide now that I think of the situation.
Not that I’m some crazy person trying to harm him, but what if I were? Bishop had every right and reason to be as cautious as I had been. In hindsight, he should have been.
“Ah, there’s that concern for me again. Baby, you don’t have to worry about me ever ending up in a situation like this again. While I might help someone out, I wouldn’t do anything that would cause you to question me.
“Since you’re stuck with me, no one will get the chance to be in your shoes to try to harm me,” he says with conviction.
“Your truffle chips and dip,” the waiter says as he places our appetizers in front of us.
They look and smell delicious. Of course, despite having his own, Bishop reaches over and snags up one of my chips and dips it before popping it into his mouth. I smile and shake my head but return the gesture.
The flavors burst in my mouth. My eyes widen and I hum as I cover my mouth and chew. Bishop nods his head and digs into his own food.
“This is divine. Wow, I wasn’t expecting that,” I moan.
“I know,” Bishop says as his gaze drops to my lips.
I try my best not to get lost in his heated gaze. With my eyes on my plate, I finish the delicious food just before the chef and waiter come over with our main course.
My mouth waters the moment they walk over and place the plates in front of us. Everything looks cooked to perfection. The plating is a work of art as well.
“Mr. Love, Miss Walden, I hope you enjoy your meal. It’s been an honor to cook for you both,” the chef says.
“Thank you,” I say.
“Thanks, Chef Kennedy. You outdid yourself. Thank you for doing this on such short notice.”
“My pleasure. Anytime.”
With that, the chef turns and heads back into the kitchen. I dig into my food and it’s pure heaven. The steak melts in my mouth and the flavors are to die for. Bishop groans and nods his head.
“Awesome, right?”
“Chef’s kiss. I would say the best thing I’ve eaten since we’ve been in Georgia, but that’s a lie because I’ve had your pussy. Nothing can compare to that,” he croons.
