“Wait, I’m still trying to understand how Saga and I have never met Bishop. I know his brothers,” Reminisce says and snaps her fingers. “And now I know why he looks so familiar. The long hair threw me off. He does look like his brothers. Oh, this is going to be good.”

My sister has that little grin on her lips that I’ve learned never to trust. My stomach starts to feel uneasy again. This is going to be a long night.

“I don’t like the sound of that. Your father and I have made big enough asses out of ourselves. Don’t add to this mess, Reminisce. I’m warning you,” Mom chides.

Reminisce throws her hands in the air. “I’m here for my sister. Besides, I want to hear this album. From what I’ve heard online, it’s going to be epic.”

Mom cups my face and wipes at my tears. “Let’s get this face fixed. Bishop is handsome. That suit is very attractive on him.”

“What suit? I need to see what you two are talking about,” I say.

“Then we better get you together,” my sister says.

“And go save your husband from the death glare your father is sure to still be giving him,” Mom says and rolls her eyes.

Hope blooms. With my mother on my side, we only have to win over my dad. This night may work out after all.

CHAPTER 41

Everything Broken

Saga

It feels good to have my mother and sister here, at my sides, as we descend the stairs to where the rest of the party has started. I’m chuckling at my crazy sister when we turn the corner and Bishop comes into view. I lose my breath.

He looks phenomenal in the tailored suit that’s draping his big body. The top button of his shirt is open, giving him a casual but sexy look. He hasn’t shaved in a day or two, which I’m not complaining about. His long locks are loose and hanging down around his shoulders.

“Yup, that was exactly how I looked when he introduced himself,” Reminisce says next to me. “Damn, how did I miss that he’s a Moran?”

I cast my gaze around my husband and find three other faces that look like his. Their genes are strong. I’ll be locking my sons away from all the fast little girls if they take after their father and uncles. My God, these are some fine men.

When I train my gaze back on Bishop, he’s staring at me. He has this look in his eyes that says a ton of unspoken things. Some are better left unsaid in present company. My feet are moving without my permission.

“You are more gorgeous than I dreamed,” he says, cupping my face.

“You aren’t looking too bad yourself,” I say and smile up at him.

The soft kiss he places on my lips is so tender it nearly brings me to tears. I’m going to need an emotional detox after tonight. I’ve been such a mess today. Bishop brushes his thumb across my lips as he looks into my eyes.

“From the first day I met you, I knew you were the one, but I don’t think I could’ve loved you as deeply as I do if I hadn’t learned heartbreak first,” he whispers.

“Stop trying to eat the girl and introduce us,” one of the tall blonds says.

Bishop points a finger. “That’s Prince,” he says as an introduction.

“Good to finally meet you, sis,” Prince says.

“Hi. It’s nice to meet you too.”

“My twin doesn’t have manners. I think I stepped on his head on the way out of the womb,” the next brother says. “I’m Lord.”

He takes my hand and kisses the back of it. Bishop elbows him, shooting him a glare. I stifle a laugh and shake my head.

“Lord,” I look at Bishop. We’ve talked about our parents’ choices of names before. However, putting faces with the names tickles me all over again. “It’s so nice to meet you.”

“That would leave my youngest brother,” Bishop says.

“Hello, beautiful. I’m Knight.”

“Watch him, he bites,” Lord chuckles.

“This may be true, but this Walden is taken,” Knight says, but his gaze is over my head.

I turn to see my sister looking at Knight with narrowed eyes. Oh, there is definitely something going on there. I know that look.

“Saga, you look lovely, dear,” Mrs. Moran sings, drawing my attention.

Bishop and his brothers get their blue eyes from their mother. She’s tall, with a thin frame. The pale-pink dress she has on enhances her tanned skin.

“Hello, Mrs. Moran.”

“You stop that. I told you to call me Tessa. You’re simply glowing. Fred, doesn’t she look lovely?”

“As always,” Bishop’s father replies as he comes to kiss me on the cheek.

Now, when it comes to the large, broad frame most of the guys have, you know right away that they get it from their father. As tall as Tessa is, her husband makes her seem as tiny as I am next to Bishop. When I look at Bishop’s parents, I can see a mix of them both in their sons.
