“Yes.”
“Now, you’re going to get into bed and not think about any of this.”
She hoped she could do that. But she was certain the nightmares were coming.
Ellis had been taken to the hospital. Saxon had shot him in the shoulder, but he’d hit his head when he’d fallen, which is why he’d been unconscious.
Raid stripped her off and then put his T-shirt on her before he helped her climb into bed. Then he took his clothes off and got in next to her.
A shudder worked its way through her. The room was spinning because she was so tired. But all she could think about was how close she’d come to losing him.
“I thought you were going to die.” She climbed on top of him, her breasts pressed to his chest. “I thought you had been shot and all . . . all I could think about was that I haven’t told you that I love you.”
“Baby–” he said softly.
But she wasn’t going to let him interrupt. She had to get this out.
“I love you, Raid Malone. I want to spend my life with you. And I don’t want to move back into my apartment.”
“Baby–”
“I don’t want to spend any nights apart from you. I don’t care if it’s too soon or whatever. I just want you. So, there it is. I love you.”
“Baby, I don’t want to spend any nights apart from you, either. And you definitely won’t be moving back into your apartment. Because I love you as well.”
“Really?”
“Really,” he said firmly.
“I think I’m going to cry.”
“No, you’re not.”
“I am.”
He rolled them so she was on her back and he was lying on his side next to her. Then he cupped the side of her face. “You won’t. I love you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“I like that.”
“Yeah, baby. Me too.”
EPILOGUE
“Do you like that, baby? Do you enjoy watching him make her come?”
They were standing in the shadows of Saxon’s. Ahead of them, a sub was tied up with her arms above her head and her legs spread. She was lying on her back on a bench while her Dom held a violet wand between her legs, and they could all hear her cries of pleasure as he brought her to orgasm.
“What do you need, precious girl?” Raid stood behind her, with one arm securing her back to his front. He had her leg up on a stool that was to her side and slightly in front of her.
And with his other hand, he was toying with her clit.
Two months had passed since Ellis held them at gunpoint.
She hadn’t thought she’d ever be able to or want to return to Saxon’s. But with Raid’s support, she’d decided that she needed to tackle this fear.
Or it would eat her alive.
“Please, please,” she begged.
“Please, what?” he asked.
“Make me come.”
She wasn’t going to lie as they’d pulled into the parking lot of Saxon’s, her stomach had been a mess. Every time she looked around the parking lot, she remembered what had happened two months ago when Ellis had tried to kill them.
He’d recovered from the gunshot, and thankfully Saxon hadn’t gotten into any trouble, considering the whole thing had been caught on camera.
Now that they had some names, the Feds were able to do some more research into Jared and Ellis. Apparently, they’d grown up off-grid with a crazy uncle who’d kept them up in the mountains of Colorado in a ramshackle cabin.
It had obviously damaged them. Jared had come clean about a lot of things once his brother was arrested. Ellis, on the other hand, was under psychiatric observation. He seemed to take pleasure in hurting others.
She’d definitely experienced that.
She’d had her share of nightmares since that night. But most of them had been about Raid getting shot and dying rather than what Ellis had revealed.
Both men would be going away for a long time and that went a long way to helping her sleep easy at night.
That, and having Raid beside her at night.
Simone had basically been run out of town. No one would even speak to her. People would turn their backs when they saw her coming.
Simone had had a lot of trouble in Freestown, too. Hannah was pretty sure that Raid and his brothers had something to do with that. About two weeks ago, she’d moved across the country.
Good riddance.
After Simone quit, Hannah went back to work. Although Raid wasn’t really that happy about her driving so much. She was thinking about finding another part-time job too. They needed to get out of the bunkhouse and into their own place.
And she knew Tanner wanted to move out of the main house.
“You want to come?” Raid asked as he toyed with her clit.
“Please, please!”
“I’m not sure you’re desperate enough.”
Her breathing increased. They were standing in a dark corner. Someone would need to get close to see them. But that was a possibility.
