“Oh, I’ve never been able to do that.”
“No?”
She shook her head. “I’m not co-ordinated enough.”
“You used to trip up all the time over nothing. It was cute.”
“It wasn’t cute!” she protested. “It was embarrassing. And I only really did that around you.”
“Yeah.” He reached out and grabbed hold of her hand, tugging her toward him. “And why did you only do that around me, darlin’?”
“Because I got all flustered.”
“Did you?” He used his finger under her chin to tilt her face back. “You got all flustered around me? Because you liked me?”
“You know I did.”
“You used to imagine me kissing you?”
“Yes,” she said, staring at his lips.
“Yeah? And was it anything like reality?” he asked.
“Hmm. I don’t know. I can’t really remember our last kiss.”
His eyes widened before he wrapped his hand around the back of her head. “Excuse me? You can’t remember our last kiss? Are you saying it wasn’t memorable?”
“I’m saying maybe you can remind me how it felt . . .” Part of her couldn’t believe she was doing this. Flirting with him like this. Practically goading him into kissing her.
Then his mouth dropped to hers, and he kissed her. And holy heck! There was no forgetting this kiss. He went deep. And he went hard.
One hand stayed around the back of her head, holding her steady for his mouth to take ownership of her, while his other hand dropped to her ass.
She moaned into his mouth as he squeezed her bottom.
Shit. That felt so good.
He drew the skirt of her dress up so his hand was underneath it. And the only thing between him and her ass was a pair of lacy panties.
She tensed for a moment, but he just kept his hand there, squeezing as his tongue teased and tormented her.
It was too much.
It wasn’t enough.
She wanted more, yet knew she probably wasn’t ready for it.
And when he drew back, she chased his lips with hers. A whimper escaped her.
“Now, did you ever imagine me kissing you like that?”
“No,” she whispered. “That was magical.”
“Yeah, it fucking was. And memorable.” He gave her a stern look.
Oops. Seemed he hadn’t liked her joking about forgetting what their last kiss had felt like.
“Definitely memorable. Although I do have a pretty terrible memory. So you might have to remind me. A lot.”
He grinned down at her, the intensity fading slightly while a warmth took its place. “I think I can do that.”
“I like that.”
“Me too,” he replied. “Now, let’s teach you to skip stones.”
Huh?
Weren’t they going to kiss anymore? She wanted to go back to the kissing part of the evening.
But then he stood behind her, his body pressed to hers as he drew her arm back to show her what to do.
This might just be the best night of her life.
And definitely memorable.

Raid was prepared for a fight.
Luckily, he had a secret weapon. This morning, he’d left all his stuff here. Sure, it wasn’t much. A toothbrush, a pair of pajama pants, and some clothes. Just things that Tanner had brought for him after he’d decided that he wasn’t leaving her apartment.
But hopefully it was enough to convince her to let him inside.
When they reached her door, he held out his hand. “Key, baby.”
“Are you sure we shouldn’t have stayed to clean up?” she asked for the third time.
“Darlin’, it’s under control.” He was going to owe all of his brothers’ women big time. But totally worth it to see the look on her face when she’d seen where they were having dinner.
He hadn’t wanted their first dinner to turn into a damn spectacle. Which is what he thought might have happened if they’d gone out to Fet or Dirty Delights. They could have driven to Freestown, but he was glad he’d decided to go for privacy.
It meant he could make out with Hannah without anyone watching.
“Okay.” She handed over her key without argument.
Hmm. This was weird. What was she thinking? Things tended to go wrong when Hannah started overthinking.
Opening the door, he let her step inside and turned on the light before he grabbed her hand. “Wait here while I check the place over.”
She gave him a shocked look but nodded.
It didn’t take him long to check the apartment, and when he returned, she was still standing there.
“My good girl, aren’t you?”
She bit her lip, but otherwise didn’t show any negative reaction to his words. They were getting somewhere.
Moving closer, he took hold of her hand and led her into her apartment to the sofa.
But when they got there, she refused to sit.
“Baby? Is something wrong?”
If she asked him to leave, what would he do? He didn’t want to upset her. But he also didn’t want to go.
You’ll do what she needs.
“I need to . . . to tell you about Steven. And I’m . . . nervous. Scared you’ll see me differently.”
