“Do you know how far apart the contractions are?” Hannah asked.
Flick grimaced. “Um, they’re become about three minutes apart in the last half hour. Before then, much further apart.”
“All right, we can probably head to the hospital,” Hannah said calmly with a smile. “As soon as someone finds West, that is.”
“Let’s head out anyway,” Alec said, coming over and lifting Flick into his arms.
“I can walk,” Flick protested.
“And have West have a shit fit when he comes back?” Raid asked dryly. “I don’t think so.”
They all walked out to find West in the truck with it running. He stared over at them, then his mouth dropped open and he jumped out of the vehicle. His limp was more pronounced when he ran. He grabbed for Flick. “Give her to me.”
“I got her, brother,” Alec replied. “Get back in the truck. In the back, though. You’re not driving. I am.”
West looked set to argue, but Flick let out a low moan.
“I’ll come behind you as soon as I can,” Mia called out.
“We all will,” Butch yelled.
“I want Hannah. Hannah, will you come in the truck?” Flick asked.
Hannah stared at her in shock. But what could she say? “Of course.”
Raid turned her to him, cupping the side of her face as Alec got Flick situated in the back with West. “You okay?”
“I’ll be fine.”
“See you there.” He grinned. “Another Malone. Yee-hah!”
Hannah sat on the uncomfortable chair in the waiting room of the hospital. “I can’t believe that just happened.”
Raid placed his arm around her shoulders. “Thanks for taking care of her on the way here, baby.”
“Of course. Although I mostly tried to keep West calm. He was . . . um, urgh . . .”
Raid chuckled. “Very unlike West?”
“Something like that.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not crazy like the rest of them. I won’t freak out when you go into labor.”
She sucked in a breath. Holy. Heck.
“That’s if you want kids? We haven’t had that talk yet.”
She looked around the waiting room. All the Malones were here. They’d gotten a babysitter for the kids. And now Mia and West were back with Flick while they all waited.
It wasn’t really the place for this talk. But . . .
“I want kids.”
She did. Desperately.
“A lot of them. I don’t want . . . I don’t want a child of mine feeling lonely like I did.”
“Baby.” That was all he said. But that one word said a lot.
“Have you thought about having kids?” she asked.
“You’re mine, darlin’. You’re going to stay mine. So yeah, the thought of a gorgeous little girl with your eyes and smile has crossed my mind.”
Damn. She was so freaking lucky.
“Does that freak you out?” There was a note of concern in his voice.
Those kid gloves again. She needed a way of showing him that she wasn’t breakable. So she looked up at him.
“I like it.”
He grinned. “Me too.”
They all looked up as the door opened and Mia stepped in, looking stunned.
“What is it? Is Flick all right?” Alec asked urgently, striding over to his wife.
“She’s fine. They’re both fine. That was so quick.” Mia seemed to shake herself together. “West is coming soon with the baby.”
“Flick’s had the baby already?” Maddox demanded.
Mia nodded.
“She’s had the baby,” Raid whispered.
She stared up at him with a smile. His eyes softened.
Then West walked into the waiting room. If Mia looked stunned . . . West looked like he’d been knocked over by a train, then brought back to life by a miracle.
And that miracle was in his arms. Everyone stood and crowded closer, but not too close.
“I’d like you all to meet Mitchell Alec Malone. Or Mitch.”
Mitch Malone.
Perfect.
“I’m wired and exhausted at the same time,” Hannah complained as they lay in bed that night. She was wearing his T-shirt again and a pair of panties. She was confiscating this T-shirt for herself.
After they’d all left the hospital, they’d stopped at Dirty Delights for drinks and food. She’d been a bit nervous about that. Mixing with lots of people wasn’t her favorite thing anymore. But she should have known that it would be different with the Malones. They seemed to sense how she felt, and made sure to keep her surrounded.
Not to mention that Raid never left her side.
She rolled into him, her hand on his bare chest. As usual, he was wearing pajama bottoms to bed, which looked sexy as hell on him. Probably because he had a gorgeous body with a broad chest and thick arms.
Leaning up on one elbow, she bent in to kiss him. He didn’t let her take the lead for long. But she didn’t mind him taking over.
“I know what could help me sleep,” she whispered.
Him. Fucking her.
“Yeah, you ready to sit on my face yet, darlin’?”
“That’s not what I meant!”
But also, maybe.
He must have sensed her agreement because he cupped her ass, squeezing it before he rolled her onto her back and slid off her panties. “You’re ready to sit on my face. Do you want to keep the T-shirt on?”
