“Awesome,” I say. “Would you like to join me for something to eat?”
“I would,” he says. “But I cannot. I have business with Captain Talos. He will be pleased to know I have a new human liaison. In the meantime, get comfortable and acquainted with the systems and the accommodations. If you’d like a tour of the Halo, you can call Arlo.”
“I will. Thank you.”
I contain my excitement until he leaves, before exploding in a fit of pure joy. I did it! I did something that felt impossible, and having done it means that I have talked my way onto an alien spaceship. They say the sky is the limit, but my limits are much, much higher. I have a new job, a place to live. I have everything I’ve ever imagined, and all I had to do to get it was lie through my teeth.
I’m not a psychopath. I understand there will eventually be consequences, but in the short term I resolve to enjoy myself to the fullest.
The tablet Cir pointed to has more than a menu on it. It also seems able to control the contents of the rooms. I see one of the icons looks like a bath, which sounds great right now. I press the button and a bath rises out of the floor right in front of the solar balcony, immediately full of lovely steaming hot water and scented with floral blossoms of all kinds.
It’s like a dream here, everything I could ever have wished for, complete abundance. Back home everything is a struggle. I can barely scrape together food, let alone shelter. I order room service, a lot of room service. And then I strip for the bath. This is going to be a party.
2 MATING MY ALIEN BOSS
Cir
A new workday dawns and my new human assistant is late for work. This, I understand, is considered unacceptable anywhere on Earth. I’m aware she is not what she wants to seem to be, but at the same time I did expect at least a modicum of an attempt to do the job.
I am curious as to what could be keeping her. Has she realized the impossible position she put herself in? Perhaps fled? No. Ship data indicates she is still in her apartment.
I go to find her. I would have thought a little scammer like her would put a fraction more effort into keeping up the charade, but humans rarely behave predictably, or sensibly, for that matter. They have too many conflicting needs and drives. That makes them delightfully unpredictable. This one is more unpredictable than most, I think.
I enter her room. Her door opens for me, as she is my charge on the Halo. Though I intend to let her feel a certain amount of independence, in the eyes of my brothers and sisters she belongs to me.
The room is quiet.
“Jessica?” Her human name feels very strange, but pleasant, in my mouth.
She does not reply, so I walk through the apartment. Most of it appears to be completely untouched, as if she made no attempt whatsoever to settle in. It is not until I reach the chamber that looks out over the universe and discover that she activated the bath that I see what she has done with the hours of rest.
Jessica is asleep in the bath, something that concerns me greatly at the outset. Stacked around the bath are trays upon trays of our finest foods, more than she could possibly eat in a month. Some of them have been devoured almost completely. Others have barely been touched. It is a sight of pure decadence and waste, two of the behaviors we are attempting to educate out of humanity.
There are other, more distracting sights present, though. Her naked curves are visible in the sudsy morass, generous proportions of smooth human femininity. The sight of her has an immediate and intense effect on me, provoking the most incredible desire. I feel my body responding in the predictably masculine way, my twin erections making the relatively tight garments of human business very uncomfortable.
I breathe deeply and regain control of my members. I am not accustomed to having to consciously control my mating apparatus. It has been a long time since any of our kind mated. We transcended the need for sexual expression many hundreds of years ago, and now replicate by intentional design only. But when I look at this human female, my libido comes roaring to life, and my flesh demands to join with hers.
The temptation to reach out and touch her nudity is intense. I find myself absolutely entranced by the sight of her, the way the water ripples over her body, the clarity of that liquid making her seem to gleam. Humans are a species with a matte finish except when they sweat or become otherwise wet. Then they gleam and shine almost as brightly as we do.
