I giggle.
“Already? But we just made love this morning, Marcus.”
He merely nuzzles the space between my breasts hungrily.
“That was hours ago. I need more now.”
Marcus kisses me again, this time a little softer. I hate that we don’t get to do this all day long. I’d give anything for us to share an office and take sex breaks. Unfortunately, we both have actual work to do and can’t just mess around all day and all night. It has to do with running a business, and designing clothes people want to wear. Oh yes, responsibilities.
I pull away and smile up at Marcus.
“As much as I’m enjoying this, did you call me in here just to kiss me or did you have something else?”
Marcus laughs.
“You know me too well. Yes, I do have a few other things I want to talk to you about.”
I smile naughtily.
“Well, I figured we rarely end up in your office for no reason whatsoever. It always starts as a real meeting and ends with…”
Marcus growls. “Don’t worry, today is going to end with that too. Have no doubt about that, pretty lady. But first, let’s talk about the spring line.”
I nod.
“What about it?”
“How is it coming? Is there anything I can do to help you?”
“I think I’m ready to hit send. I’m happy with the pieces I’ve selected, and they look great.”
“Wonderful, sweetheart. I knew you could do it. Go ahead and send to the manufacturers, and then let’s see the samples so that we can tweak as needed. We want to get these into stores asap for previews so we have some pre-orders before they even go live.”
I nod.
“Yes, absolutely. I’ll do it as soon as I get back to my office. I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me, Marcus, because without your input, I couldn’t have accomplished this.”
He merely sweeps me into his strong arms again.
“Don’t sell yourself short, Addy,” he murmurs into my ear. “We both know you’re the brains behind the line. You did everything, and I was just the wind beneath your wings.”
I giggle.
“The wind beneath my wings? That sounds sappy. I had no idea you were such a romantic.”
But my boyfriend merely leans in to kiss me hard. I melt into him until I remember there’s something else I wanted to talk to him about.
“What’s wrong?” Marcus asks when I pull away. His eyes are ravenous and I know I can’t put him off for long.
“Nothing,” I smile. “But what do you think about a plus-size swimsuit line?”
He looks surprised.
“The House of Steele has never done that before.”
“I know, but I think it’s a fabulous idea. What screams summer more than bathing suits? And it’ll really emphasize our commitment to extended sizes. It would be weird if we only did swimsuits in straight sizes while calling ourselves an ‘enlightened’ atelier.”
He nods seriously.
“You’re absolutely right, and I love the idea. If I could, I’d say yes right now. But you know that’s not how it works.”
I sigh.
“Yeah, I know.”
Marcus strokes my cheek affectionately.
“Hey, no sad faces. You know I have to go to the sales and marketing teams to see if they think it would be viable. We can’t put the money in if we don’t think it’ll get a return.”
“I understand, but you’re the CEO!”
He chuckles.
“I know, and I think my teams will say yes because it’s a brilliant idea. But we still need to follow the process before giving it a shot. Tell you what: I’ll convince them to let us do a small run just to see what happens.”
I smile up at him. “Thank you, Marcus.”
He kisses my forehead. “I’d do anything for you.”
“That’s why I like you so much.”
Marcus laughs, one black brow quirking.
“Oh yeah? It’s not my striking charm and perfect body?”
I run my fingers down Marcus’s chest.
“The perfect body doesn’t hurt,” I purr.
This time when Marcus kisses me, he’s not taking no for an answer. He’s insistent and hungry, and I know he doesn’t care that we’re in the middle of a workday.
My butt presses against Marcus’s desk and I try not to think back to the first time when I saw Marcus and Marissa in a similar position. But the fact is that I’m a filthy girl, and I want to re-create that scene. I still can’t get over the mental image of Marcus’s powerful body drilling his wife as she lay back on the desk with her legs spread wide apart. It’s so wrong, but I want to be that woman this time. With a small twist, of course.
“You’re perfect, Addy,” Marcus whispers as he kisses my ear.
I giggle. “Far from it, but flattery will get you everywhere, Mr. Steele.”
He chuckles and then lifts me so I’m sitting on his desk, but suddenly, there’s a knock on his door. Fuck!
My boyfriend barks, “What is it?”
