Leaning in, I kissed him again, barely brushing my lips against his. “Our boy.”

Ian let out a soft, contented sigh before wiggling and scrunching up his face. I couldn’t tell if he was going back to sleep, embarrassed at what had happened, or just frustrated because he was possibly lying in cum.

I hoped for some kind of clue as I stroked over his head, at least wanting to know if I needed to talk him out of being embarrassed.

“Pancakes?”

Nope, that didn’t help.

Looking to his Daddy, I raised an eyebrow, only to get a teasing grin and a confused shrug. Clearly, he wasn’t going to be any help either.

But if Ian was hungry, that meant he couldn’t be too embarrassed, right?

Either way, dinner sounded like a good plan. “Yes, pancakes sound like a great idea.”

Wait.

Was he hungry now or was he talking about in the morning?

Fuck.

He just made a happy sound.

No help at all.

Chapter 18

Bishop

I still couldn’t tell if he was big or little.

The fact that he was now sitting on my lap wearing a pair of Cohen’s pajamas wasn’t helping me figure it out either. He was adorable in the oversized clothes that gave him an air of innocence. They hung off him just enough to give him a sweet look that made me want to cuddle him tight and find him a binkie.

But I wasn’t sure if that was where his head was.

Cohen’s questioning glances said he wasn’t sure either and neither of us wanted to poke at Ian enough to figure it out. But as Cohen finally finished up the pancakes and brought over a big stack to the table, I knew as Daddy it was my job to figure out what Ian was thinking.

“Those look delicious, thank you.” Giving Cohen a smile, I winked and kissed Ian’s head as he made a happy noise that still didn’t give me any clues about where his mind was at.

Maybe his mind had escaped and that was the problem?

Was there a way to figure that out…check in his ears, maybe?

Daddies seemed to be the type of Doms to address things sweetly but still head-on, so I gave Ian another peck and a hug. “Alright, cutie. Are you going to eat on your own or do you want Daddy’s help?”

It seemed like a better place to start than poking him and asking him if he was a grown-up at the moment.

Letting out a deep breath, Ian shrugged. “I love pancakes.”

Not helpful either…and something about the whole thing was tickling Cohen because he was right on the edge of giggling.

Honestly, he looked littler than Ian.

“I’m glad.” I gave Ian another kiss and tried again, this time more bluntly. “I know your brain is still very floaty, cutie, but are you going to be little or big for dinner?”

So maybe it was time to verbally poke him at the very least.

Ian just scrunched up his face.

Cohen pressed his lips together as he grabbed the butter out of the fridge and went over to get the syrup from the pantry. After a moment, he seemed to decide that it was his turn to try. “I need to know if we should cut up your pancakes or let you do it yourself, cutie.”

Oh, that was a good one.

Ian seemed like he could actually answer that one because he started nodding slowly like his brain was finally waking up. “Can you cut it up?”

Okay, so little?

“But I’ll sit there.” He pointed to another chair, which gave me completely conflicting signals. “And can I have coffee? I don’t think my head is working enough to drive.”

He wanted to leave?

I looked over at Cohen, not sure what to do because it wasn’t my house, and well, I wasn’t sure what to do.

I should’ve just let Ian stay littlish.

This was dangerous territory that I wasn’t anywhere near Dom enough to handle.

Thankfully, Cohen knew it was time for him to take control and came right over to the table. He set the food down like everything was perfectly fine but then knelt down beside my chair and smiled at Ian.

Our boy wasn’t looking much more functional than he had a few seconds ago, but as Cohen stroked his face, something about the way he nuzzled against the sexy Dom said he wasn’t sliding toward little headspace any longer.

Good?

Maybe?

“Will you stay with us tonight?” Cohen ran his thumb over Ian’s cheek, smiling as Ian rubbed his face against Cohen’s hand. “I would love for you to cuddle with us tonight, but it’s up to you, and we won’t push if you need space.”

I’d never want space after a scene like that, but I knew everyone was different and I found myself holding my breath as Ian stretched and sat up. I was worried it was the start of his I’m going to head home declaration, but when he looked around and yawned, I realized it was just his brain finally coming back online.
