“But there’s also the way you’re not really casual with Cohen.” Just the way Bishop smiled when he said his name made that clear. “I don’t know if it’s going to be different since you’re not just going out with random guys you met at a club once in a while.”

He chuckled, not sounding offended. “I’d be more worried about catching something in that kind of situation or having the weird guy they pick up turn out to be psycho.”

“Good point.” And scarily close to what had happened in one case. “But there’s a thread of something reasonable in there somewhere.”

At least I thought there was.

“How about we try this?” He kissed my head again, making me smile even though I couldn’t explain why. “We’re going to have our little date tonight and then we’re going to find another time to go out. Once we’ve had…let’s say three dates, we’re going to sit down and talk about how you feel. If you’re jealous and upset at that point or feel left out and just second fiddle, we’ll see if this is really working for you.”

I found myself taking a deep breath and considering his proposal. “What if it doesn’t work out and it’s weird? I don’t want to ruin your chance of settling here or making friends.”

Now it was his turn to take a deep breath. Waiting while he thought about what I’d said should’ve been stressful at the very least, but with Bishop, it was just comfortable silence. Everything he’d done from the first time we’d met made me feel safe and comfortable.

Even when he was telling me about the other guy he was dating.

God. This was so weird.

But then he kissed my head again and I melted.

Maybe I was allergic to him and that was making me weak?

Immune systems were complicated things.

He finally shrugged, making my head bob. “Even if it doesn’t work out, however you’d define what we are, I would still like to be your friend and make sure you’re happy.”

Aww, how could I say no to someone that sweet?

“You’ll tell me if Cohen gets upset with this?” I was going to do it?

Fuck.

I was going to do it, but I held Bunny tighter for courage. “And you won’t be mad if I end up being the jealous type? I don’t know if I am with something like this.”

Going out for drinks with some guy who was having drinks with other people wasn’t the same as him being my Dom and Cohen’s sub.

Was it?

“I promise not to get mad and I will do my best to keep clear lines of communication open so that no one gets upset.” He sounded so sure it would work, I found myself nodding against him.

“What about…” God, was I really going to ask this?

Fuck it.

“What about intimate things?” I took a breath and pulled Bunny against my chest as Bishop went still. “I would like for all three of us to get tested before you and I do anything that could…before we…fuck.”

Oh, shit. Not fuck.

As I tried to decide if dying from embarrassment was a real thing, he did the most amazing thing.

He lightly spanked the side of my bottom.

“No naughty words.”

I might’ve melted…or moaned.

Maybe both?

God.

Someone needed to just kill me and put me out of my misery.

“Are you going to be a good boy? No cursing?” He said it so tenderly I nodded as my embarrassment and inconvenient desire faded.

“Yes…Daddy?” Testing out the word, I found myself blushing again. “Is that a rule?”

I could live with that rule.

It was kind of cute.

I felt him nod against my head. “Yes, cutie. We’re going to figure out what rules work best for us, but no cursing. And to answer your question, which was a very good question, cutie, I think getting tested is a wonderful idea. I’m also going to suggest we all agree to no physical intimacy with anyone else outside of the three of us.”

That was called something…closed poly?

I was going to have to look that up later, but for now I nodded…then thought of something important. “Eli hugs don’t count, do they? He’s naked a lot.”

I was serious, but Bishop laughed. “No, Eli doesn’t count. That would be too hard to deal with.”

Oh yeah.

He managed to get me at least once a week even when I did my best to keep track of him. I wasn’t offended by the hugs. It was just more of a game of keep away at this point and I always lost. I was pretty sure he cheated and had found a way to track me, but I couldn’t get even until I figured it out.

“Good.” That would make things easier.

I was feeling very tired of being a grown-up, but Bishop was still very thoughtful. “What else should we talk about before we have fun? Are you worried about anything else?”
