With that, I turn on my heel and stalk deeper into the dining room as the three psycho assholes stand in the doorway wondering where the fuck I get off speaking to them like that, but damn, I’m not going to lie, it felt good.

I make my way over to the big dining table and drop my ass straight down into the seat that Roman had occupied the other night and instantly start helping myself to what I’m assuming is his lunch. It’s not exactly my meal of choice, but after eating nothing good for the past few days, it’ll do.

I don’t bother looking up as their hard stares will surely terrify me, and as long as there’s no knife being stabbed through my chest, then I’m considering myself safe. Besides, I could be hallucinating, but I’m pretty sure Levi said that they offered me food, water, and a bathroom for being such a good little maze survivor, and I know for a fact there was none of that in the big room upstairs. As far as I’m concerned, I’m entitled to Roman’s lunch, just as he thinks that he’s entitled to my life.

More than willing to rub salt in the wound, I pick up a whole chicken leg and lean back in my seat, propping my dirty, cut-up feet up on their dining table as I watch the three of them hovering in the doorway. “Is there something you need?” I question, liking this whole taking the reins thing. “You’re disturbing my lunch.”

Levi’s hands ball into tight fists and the sudden movement has the muscles in his arm flinching, making his tattoos almost appear to be moving on top of his skin.

Roman’s hand snaps out and presses against Levi’s chest, demanding his patience, and Marcus just narrows his wicked gaze, his head slowly tilting to the left and daring me to keep going down this dangerous path.

He steps into the dining room and I watch his every step, not trusting a single one of them. Silence spreads through the room until all that I can hear is the sound of my racing heart as he steps in behind me.

My feet are pushed off the table and in one quick motion, he pushes my chair in until the armrests are slamming against the hardwood and locking me in. I sit up straighter, breathing deeply through my nose as I fail to keep chewing the food in my mouth.

His hand floats down in front of me as he leans forward, hovering over the back of my seat as his other hand rests beside mine on the massive table. His fingers trail over my collarbone until he grips my chin and tears it up, forcing my stare to his in one sharp movement. I swallow hard, forcing the half-chewed chicken down my throat as I meet his wicked stare. “Are you telling us that you’re not … satisfied with your stay?” he questions, that deep tone slicing straight through my chest. “Just say the word and I’ll make sure that you get the complete DeAngelis experience.”

I don’t respond because what’s the fucking point? I’ve said what needed to be said and how they handle that is completely up to them. From here on out, the ball is in their court, and something tells me that there’s nothing I can do about that.

Both Roman and Levi slowly creep deeper into the room and my gaze quickly flicks their way before coming straight back to Marcus’. When it was Levi hovering over me like this, I could trust him enough not to lose control and snap my neck from a few snide comments, but Marcus is different, and while I’m willing to give myself up to him when it comes to sex, that doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t watch my back around him.

“Marcus,” Roman says, his voice low and full of authority as he and Levi take their seats at the table. “That’s enough. Let the girl eat, and then tomorrow, she will pay for her little performance in the hallway.”

In an instant, Marcus’ fingers uncurl from around my chin, but as he goes, he leans in even closer, his lips brushing against my ear. “Better prepare yourself, baby, you just gave me the motivation I needed to make this my most exciting kill yet. Your sweet little pussy won’t save you this time.”

Fear races through my veins, and as he goes to pull away, my fingers curl around the steak knife beside my plate. A harsh laugh tears through him and before I even know what I’m doing, I bring the knife up and slam it down over his hand, slicing straight through his flesh until I feel the tip of the blade slamming into the hardwood of the table beneath.

Marcus’ harsh laugh is cut off as a piercing scream is torn from deep inside my chest, the horror of what I’ve just done racing through my veins. “Oh, fuck,” I shriek, scrambling back in my chair to try and get away but Marcus’ big body has me trapped within the confines of my chair.
