To me, there’s nothing better than spending the day with the whole family since it just keeps getting bigger.

Carter and his new wife Bri have their twin boys, Nate and Parker, who are already growing into little ice hockey lovers. They came along at the perfect time for Georgie. She really needed other kids to bond with, and the fact that they’re twins and just as rough as she is was a bonus. And speaking of bonuses, I’m pretty sure Brianna is pregnant again, though neither of them has said anything.

Ten months ago, Cassie and Jax welcomed their little bulldozer, Hudson, into the world, who must be the funniest little guy I’ve ever met. Then, of course, Logan and his wife, Elle, had a beautiful little girl, Lilly, who’s only six months old. And I swear, my Georgie fell in love with her the second she was born. After having three boy cousins, she loved that there was a new girl to play with. And by play, I mean, she pushes her around in a toy stroller and treats her as though she’s one of her dollies.

Seeing my siblings take on parenthood is one of the best experiences life has to offer, but what’s better is watching the five kids come together and have each other’s backs. The bond they’re creating will last them a lifetime. It’s literally the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Hearing my little Georgie girl calling for me, I scoop up the snacks and hurry back out to the yard, then just as the older kids dive in, my phone chimes with a notification. I quickly get the younger kids sorted with their snacks before digging into my pocket and finding my phone. I dread checking it. My firm knows that weekends are for my family, and I’m going to be pissed if they even attempt to drag me away, but sometimes it comes with the territory of being the best criminal attorney in the country.

Glancing down at my phone, I find a notification on the screen and stare at it in confusion. “What the fuck is this?” I grunt to anyone who’ll listen, not recognizing the app it’s come from.

Cassie peers over my shoulder before snatching the phone out of my hand, a cheesy as fuck grin plastered across her face. “Ooh,” she teases. “You have a match on Tinder.”

“A match on what?” I question, trying to grab my phone back.

Cassie’s head snaps up, and she looks at me as though an alien lifeform just stepped out of my body and asked her to suck its dick. “What do you mean a match on what?” she questions. “It’s Tinder. Have you been living under a rock?”

“Cass,” I groan, getting frustrated and taking my phone back. “What the fuck is Tinder? And why the hell is it on my phone?”

“It’s a dating app, dude,” Carter explains as the grin widens on Cassie’s face, making me realize that she had everything to do with this. “It searches for matches in your area, and you have to swipe right on the girls you’re interested in. If they like you, you’ll match.”

“Right,” I grunt, still very confused as I fix a heavy stare on my little sister. “But that doesn’t explain how the fuck it got on my phone.”

“Guilty,” Logan says with a cringe as he raises his hand, making my head whip around to him in shock. I should have fucking known. “I thought it was time for you to start getting back out there.”

“What?” I question, anger starting to pulse through my veins. The idea of trying to move on from Sara makes me want to double over in agony. “That’s none of your fucking business.”

I mean, shit. Who the fuck does he think he is? I don’t want to date. I’m not even a little bit ready for that. Hell, I’m not even remotely interested. With work and looking after Georgie, I don’t have time for it, nor do I want to. I might not be content with how the past few years have gone without Sara, but it works for Georgie and me.

Besides, what would Sara think? I can’t just find some random chick from a dating app and insert her into her daughter’s life. I have a child and a dead wife to think about. The thought of it just feels wrong, like they’re wanting me to replace Sara.

“Dude, chill out,” Logan says, his hands up in surrender. “I didn’t mean anything by it. I swiped right on a few chicks for you and if they decide to match, then you can go from there. If not, whatever. I just thought dating could help to . . . I don’t know . . . liven you up again.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I snap, not liking where this is going.
