“Now,” I growled as I took off my vest and stripped out of my shirt. “About making those babies…”

EPILOGUE

BLAKELY

Glancing down at my phone’s screen at the text notification, I smiled when I saw Molly’s name. Everyone had welcomed me with open arms when Gideon had brought me to Old Bridge, but the VP’s old lady held a special place in my heart. She was awesome and had been so much help in getting me settled into my new life with the Iron Rogues.

Tapping on the screen, I let out a shriek when I read her message.

Molly

Come over to the shop. Someone just brought a baby to Whiskey!

“What’s going on?” Elise asked.

Gideon’s sister and I had been baking a batch of triple chocolate chip cookies. Luckily, we had just pulled the last dozen out of the oven so we could head over to Iron Inkworks to see what was happening.

Showing her the text from Molly, I stripped off the apron I had been wearing.

“Holy crap,” she squealed, heading for the door. “Hurry up, let’s go.”

We hurried down a couple of blocks to the tattoo parlor owned by the Iron Rogues as a prospect trailed us. Gideon and Blade were out taking care of something for Fox, so he’d been tasked with keeping an eye on us until they got back to the clubhouse later tonight.

“Do you think Whiskey got someone pregnant and is just now finding out he has a baby?” I asked.

“Doubt that,” the prospect muttered. “Never seen him with a woman before.”

“Yeah, he doesn’t seem like the type to me,” Elise agreed.

I nodded, thinking the same thing. But when we pushed open the door of the tattoo parlor, Molly’s message was confirmed. Whiskey was pacing back and forth in the waiting area, holding an infant who looked no more than a few weeks old. Dressed in a navy-blue pantsuit with a white button-down shirt, the woman standing next to him didn’t look like a baby mama. Plus, her gray hair and wrinkles put her outside her childbearing years.

I wondered if she was the mom’s mother, but then she handed Whiskey a business card and said, “Please call me if you have any questions. Someone from the local children’s services offices will follow up with you since I’m handing the case over to one of their social workers.”

“What happened?” I asked Molly when she padded over to us.

“I’m not sure,” she whispered, her gaze sympathetic as she glanced at Whiskey over her shoulder. “The only thing I caught was that his sister is the mom.”

Elise shook her head. “I didn’t even know he had any siblings.”

“Same, so they’re definitely not close,” Dahlia added as she joined us. If anyone was in the know about the guys, it was her since she was the president’s old lady.

The baby started crying again as soon as the woman left the shop. She looked so tiny cradled in Whiskey’s tattooed, muscular arms as he bounced her against his broad chest. “Fuck, I have a client coming in for their second session on a full sleeve in ten minutes. What the hell am I gonna do?”

Dahlia rushed over to him to take the baby from his arms. “Don’t worry, I can watch her for today.”

“And we’ve already started stocking up on baby stuff, so she can borrow some things while one of the prospects runs out to grab anything else she needs,” Molly added.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I offered, “I can work on a list so he’ll know what to get.”

“Thanks,” Whiskey muttered. “That’ll work for the short-term, but I guess I’m gonna need to find a fucking nanny.”

Elise clapped her hands, bouncing on the balls of her feet. “Ohhhh, I know the perfect person! I met her last week at the library.”

Whiskey narrowed his eyes at her, but his voice was gentle as he said, “So you barely know this chick?”

“I mean, I’m sure you’ll run a background check on her, but she was volunteering while she was there.” Elise beamed a smile at him. “And I already know that she loves kids because she was reading to a huge group of them. I asked how often she does it because she’s amazing, and she’s there twice a week. The librarian said they wished they could offer her a full-time job doing it because the daycare center where she’s worked since she was a sophomore in high school just shut down, and now she’s without a job right when she graduated. A whole semester early.”

“Damn, girl.” Molly let out an appreciative whistle. “You practically got her entire life story.”

Dahlia rocked the baby back and forth. “And she sounds like she’d be the perfect nanny.”

“I guess we’ll find out,” Whiskey conceded as his appointment walked in the door.

As we headed over to the clubhouse, Elise rubbed her palms together. “I’m willing to bet she’ll be perfect as more than just the nanny.”
