Goddamn, was he a man, though. Hot and fucking cocky and masculine and everything designed to drive me utterly insane.

And I was ready for it.

As he pulled out of me, discarding the condom, I was still somewhere half-surreal. Looking at my streaked cum all over his bedsheets, a laugh bubbled up in me. I hadn’t even cared where I was coming. Like I hadn’t been able to worry about anything at all.

Kace balled up the sheet and set down a fresh one, always being a gentleman, even now. He crashed onto the bed next to me and a split second later, he was on top of me, pressing his lips to mine.

His kiss was so hungry, so wanting, even though we were both completely spent.

I hummed against his lips. “Hello,” I murmured before he kissed me again. He broke off from my lips, kissing all along my cheek and jaw and neck, still claiming me even though he’d already taken every inch of me.

“Thank you,” was all he said as he nuzzled in against the crook of my neck, breathing in deep. “Thank you, Nathan.”

“What?” I asked. “You’re thanking me even though I’m the one who got dicked down?”

He sighed gently, and as I wrapped an arm around him, he settled on my chest, looking up at me. “Thank you for trusting me,” he said softly. “For seeing me as a whole person. As fucked up as that might sound.”

“If you had told me that we’d end up here, the day I met you, I’d never have believed it,” I murmured. “I’m really thankful for that, too.”

He traced his fingertips in little circles on my chest. “You want to know something weird?” he asked. “I think I would have believed it.”

“No way.”

He nodded. “Something about you. Even the moment we first met, there was something there. Something that usually isn’t there.”

“An erection?”

Kace burst out laughing. “No. I get hard all the time. That isn’t that unusual.”

I smiled. “I’m glad you saw something in me, even when I was just my uptight, repressed, numb self.”

“You weren’t all that numb,” he murmured. “I saw you in there. Even if you were all adorably self-conscious.”

“I’ll tell you something deep,” I offered. “The moment I saw you sucking on a damn frozen protein pop, I knew you’d be great at giving head.”

Kace laughed again, and the feeling of the vibrations against my chest were too good. “Damn right. Not going to deny that one.”

“So are we going to get started on date night now?” I asked.

“Guess we should, huh?” Kace said. “I like having you as a boyfriend. Letting me fuck you before our big date. You must really like me.”

I kissed his hair, breathing in his fresh scent. “I really do.”

A few days after Nathan proved he was a natural fucking champion at taking my cock, I was still on cloud nine. It turned out that when I’d left everything about my “normal” old life behind, there had been some parts I’d been missing without ever knowing it.

I let my foot sink onto the gas pedal in my Porsche, taking a turn onto Spruce Street in Jade River. The crew had all just been at my house for another long day of work, and Nathan and I were driving to Jade Brewery. This week, I’d used my phone less than I had in years. I’d been less active on social media, but my real life—my personal shit—was better than it had ever been.

And tonight, I was actually giddy for the most “normal” kind of thing ever—I was going to meet Nathan’s parents tonight.

Nathan was looking hot as fuck in the passenger seat, unsurprisingly. He had classic sunglasses on, and he was wearing an olive green collared work shirt, which was somehow even hotter than his usual flannel. I wasn’t sure when the construction worker look had started to turn me on so damn hard, but I wasn’t going to question it now.

“We rocked it today,” Nathan said, looking out the window as we drove past the Fixer Brothers offices and across the street to Jade Brewery. “Once we get drywall in, we can do some good reveal shots for your TV show, too.”

“Life of Tomlin is going to become a hit home renovation show instead of being about my life,” I joked. “I mean, did you see Charlie earlier? He’s not just a scene-stealer, he’s a star.”

“He loves it,” Nathan said. “It’s like you two traded places in being addicted to social media, but I think Charlie’s getting a kick out of it for now.”

“Hey, I was never addicted to it,” I said. “I just liked it. A little too much. And it was the only way I could feel good about myself sometimes. Okay, maybe I was a little bit addicted to it.”
