I gasp sharply as he kisses me right above my bikini line, his hands sliding down my bottoms on both sides. Once they’re off, he gently pushes the backs of my thighs forward, kissing the inside of one and then the other.

I’m squirming and breathing hard by the time he finally runs his tongue along my seam, which makes me moan and grab a handful of his hair.

He teases me with his tongue, kissing and licking every inch of me. When he gently sucks on my clit, I’m already on the edge of coming apart.

“Ben...” I moan, tugging on his hair. “Now. Please, now.”

He gets to his feet and I move myself back on the bed, every cell in my body aching for him. After one last ravenous, sweeping gaze of me, he gets to a knee on the bed and climbs on top of me.

“Tell me you want me,” he says, his lips hovering above mine. “I need to hear you say it.”

“I want you so badly, Ben. More than I want to keep breathing.”

He looks into my eyes as he pushes himself inside me. It’s intense, seeing his reaction. There’s reverence, bliss and a hint of him still holding himself back.

I don’t want that. I want all of him. I roll my hips against his, urging him to let go of his carefully-held self-control. His eyes close halfway and he groans before pulling out of me and thrusting in harder.

“Yes,” I breathe. “Don’t stop, Ben.”

God, I love the sound of his name on my lips. And I love the way he pins my wrists above my head and hooks an arm behind one of my thighs, allowing him to fuck me deeper.

This hotel room could be located in Siberia and I’d still be in paradise. Nothing exists but the two of us and the exquisite way this feels. He takes one of my nipples between his lips and sucks on it, then nips it lightly with his teeth.

I cry out, the sensation bringing me right to the edge. Ben closes his eyes, holding on to his control as he pumps into me faster and harder.

“Fuck, Stel...”

His next stroke sends me into a hard orgasm, the sound of my name from his lips shredding the last of my effort to make it last. Tears prick at my eyes as he continues fucking me, making it last and last. I’m just starting to come down when he buries himself deep inside me and groans, burying his face in my neck.

He kisses me and moves off of me and I laugh.

“Benjamin Hogan, you just made me have a thirty-second orgasm. Are you secretly a wizard?”

He grins. “It’s all in the hips. Hockey players have the best hips, you know.”

It’s not just the hips—he’s being modest.

“What would you say to ordering room service and spending the evening in?” I ask.

“I say fuck yes.”

I snuggle into his side. “I’ve got a birth control implant, by the way.”

He lets out a single note of laughter. “Good thing one of us is thinking about that. I’ve never let my inner caveman take over like that before, I’m sorry.”

“I won’t allow you to apologize for that.”

He kisses my temple. “Yeah, but I should’ve thought of birth control. I get tested regularly for STIs by our team doctor and I haven’t been with anyone since my last clear test.”

“I trust you, Ben.” I put my hand on his cheek and lean up on an elbow to kiss him. “But I do have to ask...what changed between yesterday and today?”

He runs his fingertips over my bare hip, sighing softly. “I just couldn’t deny it anymore. I don’t get to make decisions for you, you’re a grown adult. And yesterday I was kind of doing that.”

“You’re a protective sort. I get it. But yes, I appreciate realizing you should have ravaged me yesterday.”

He grins. “Can I make it up to you tonight?”

“As many times as you’re able to.”

Laughing, he rolls me onto my back, holding himself above me. “You might need a calculator to keep track, baby.”

Baby. It hits me straight in the chest how much I love hearing him call me that. Owen would flippantly call me pet names, but never a particular one, and never affectionately like Ben just did.

I fight my urge to tell him I love him. I don’t mean in the way I’ve loved him for most of my life, but in the deepest, most romantic way. But it’s crazy—I can’t be in love with Ben after less than a week.

I say it to myself, though. Several times. Because crazy or not, Ben makes me happier than I ever thought possible.

Chapter Fourteen

Ben

Nothing in the world could be better than waking up next to Stella. When I open my eyes, she’s still peacefully sleeping on her stomach, the side view of her naked body breathtaking. Her hair spills out behind her like a mermaid siren’s.
