“Nothing, do nothing.” I kiss the top of Bella’s head. “Uncle Gio will make this better. Promise.”
I already have my phone pulled out to send Ming a text. My gut was right. It’s time. I quickly text my instructions to Ming and turn to find Ny watching me. I nod for her to follow me as I start for the back door.
Jace follows, not needing anything said. We all huddle up outside by the trash cans. I look into Ny’s eyes.
“There’s a vehicle I’d like for that cunt to come in contact with,” I say. “Can you do that for me?”
“With pleasure. How do you want this to play out?”
“Give it some time, allow the event to end and go home with Elijah and Gwen. Shower, change, and leave as if going on a date. At the end of the night, you’re going to end up at the Dollhouse.”
She purses her lips but doesn’t protest. I ignore it for now. I have plans for later, but we don’t need to get into that at the moment.
I continue with my instructions. “Ming is going to drop this vehicle off for you. She’s also going to give you a lock on that cunt’s GPS. She’ll take the bike and bring it back to the Dollhouse.”
“Just a love tap to send a message, or are you looking for something else?”
“Make it fatal. Leave no trace.” I turn to look at Jace. “I’m going to finish things here, then you’ll drop me at the Dollhouse. You’ll come inside so you’re seen on the cameras. You and Ming will mingle on the dance floor to cover you both. Then leave through the basement. You and Ny make sure you’re seen somewhere traceable and far from the scene. Then return to the Dollhouse.
“Make it tight. As few gaps as you can. I’ll remain in sight at the Dollhouse all night.”
Jace nods. I smile and turn to head back into the restaurant. I’ll fix my brother’s shit and when Ny shows up at the Dollhouse, I’ll finish what we started.
Chapter 26
Kills and Alibis
Nyla
I step out of the restroom and head back to the front. It’s been a few hours since Bethany stormed off, but the good vibes never returned. I’ve been waiting to get out of here so I can put an end to that bitch.
Too bad Gio isn’t going to allow me to place hands on her first. However, I know he’s been planning for this so I’m going to go with what he’s asked for—everything has a purpose when it comes to him. Looking around, I note most of the people have left. Dad and Gwen are cleaning up with Lizzy. I join them to help out.
“You all right?” I say to Lizzy.
“Yeah, I’m good. The cleaning crew will finish this up. I just wanted to get it started for them.”
I smile. My sister is always looking to make things easier for everyone else. It’s one of the things I admire about her. If she can lighten the load, she will.
“What do you need? Where can I help?”
“We’re almost done here, but I want to check in on Bella and Dante. You guys can head out without me.”
“You two ready to go?” Elijah asks as he walks over.
“I was just telling Ny I’ll call for a car or something. I want to check on Bella.”
Dad nods. “You sticking around here or riding back to the house with us?” he asks with knowing eyes.
“I’m riding with you guys.”
“My feet are killing me,” Gwen says as she comes over.
“I could use a good shower. I’m ready to go when you guys are,” I say.
The last thing I want to do is get Gwen involved in what I’m about to do. Although, from the look on her face earlier, I don’t think she would mind. However, I know the deal with something like this. The fewer people involved, the better, no matter how loyal they may be.
“I’ll pull the car around,” Dad says.
Gwen wraps an arm around my neck as Lizzy moves to talk to some of the staff. I place my arm around Gwen’s waist and give her a little squeeze.
“You have Ava worried about you. You should give her a call.”
“I will. I’m still settling in.”
“Are you okay? Is there anything I can do?”
“I’ll be fine. I’m taking it a day at a time.”
“I’m here if you need me,” she says.
“You know, there is something you can do for me.”
“Name it.”
“Stop running. He loves you. You don’t have to hide behind me and Lizzy. Take it from me. Running hurts you both and it solves nothing.”
“Ah, so you’re talking to yourself. Is that it? When did you become the adult and I the child?”
“That’s my point. There aren’t any children anymore. Car has grown up, Lizzy will find her way soon, and I’m a grown woman, flaws and all.”
