I saw what I thought was a familiar face on my way out but he was far enough away that I could’ve been mistaken. Last I heard he was still away at some fancy school and not here sniffing around my kid. Jared and the others were on the other side of the parking lot waiting and as I approached Jared called out. “Isn’t that your future son in law?”

I looked back over my shoulder at the kid already feeling indigestion kicking in. “The fuck is he doing?” It was obvious he hadn’t seen us; he seemed too focused on the building. No doubt he was here after my kid.

The doors opened and the hellions came barreling out in all shapes and sizes. I saw Mengele first out of all my kids because she sticks out in the midst of all the teenagers. Fucking kid is in the twelfth grade already and they still want to send her off somewhere.

I watched as the boy approached Caitiebear who had just cleared the door and growled at the way he hugged her before putting her behind him. I don’t know what he said to her and the other one but they stepped to the side out of the way of the horde that was making enough noise to wake the dead.

Some ox of a kid who looked like he should be stocking shelves somewhere or some fuck came walking by and that’s when the boy went into action. “The fuck!” He picked up the kid who had to have a good fifty pounds on him and slammed him into the ground. He did that shit so fast it was almost a blur.

Of course the bloodthirsty people who go to school here gathered around and started their shit while me, and the boys looked on. “What’s he doing?” The boy pulled what looked like a piece of paper from his pocket and a bottle of water from another.

He soaked the paper and held it over the kid’s face before leaning down to whisper something in his ear. “Oh shit! Where the fuck did he learn that?”

“You know what that is Colt?”

“Yeah, an old Asian form of torture, he’s smothering him with paper. That shit’s almost as bad as water boarding and just as affective.”

He stepped back and away from the kid and walked back to my girls, taking their hands in his and walking away. “This fuck!”

“Bruh, he’s so you!” I almost broke Jared’s face before hopping on my bike, ignoring the ribbing from my boys.

Todd

I made it just in time from the airport to the school. I’d handed in my last paper a few hours ago before hopping on Jace’s private plane that he so kindly offered at the end of the house tour the night before after I moved in.

My original plan was to drive back so that I would have my ride with me for the summer, but that would’ve taken too long and I might’ve ran the risk of missing the opportunity for what I had planned so I was more than happy to take him up on his offer instead of having to fly commercial.

I’m no longer freaked by the amount of wealth these guys have, or the generosity with which they are willing to share it. But if it wasn’t for her I probably would’ve turned down the plane ride, that’s just too much.

But with no layovers I knew I’d be here just in time to meet the bell, which works out perfectly for what I have in mind. I need to nip this shit in the bud before anyone else steps in; like her dad or her brothers. This is mine to do!

I didn’t plan on having any long drawn out conversations; that shit never works with dicks like Brian and his ilk, so I had my plan in motion before I even left campus. All the way here in the rental truck, I’d had to keep telling myself to stay calm. But the closer I got to her, the madder I became.

I pulled up to the school just as the bell began to ring. Now my heart was racing for a whole other reason. It had been way too long since I’d seen my girl in the flesh, touched her, inhaled her scent; looked into her eyes while face to face.

I ignored the appreciative looks from some of the girls who came through the doors first; my eyes peeled straight ahead looking for that head of white blonde hair that stands out among the rest. No one else has hair like my Caitie.

I saw her seconds after I saw her sister and my heart began to smile before my lips did. She picked up her head from saying something to her friend and saw me and the look that came over her face made it all worth it.
