I grin and push my fingers through my son’s hair. “There will be a big one in the foyer, one in the living room off the kitchen, and one in each of our bedrooms.”

I’m ticking them off on my fingers, trying to remember them all.

“Oh, and I’m going to put a tiny one in the kitchen. So, six.”

“That’s a lot of Christmas trees. I’m assuming that doesn’t include all the fancy lights and garland and decorations,” Drew decides. “How do you have time to do it all?”

“I hire most of it out. They have ladders and nerves of steel. But there are some things that I want Caleb and I to do together. I was in the mood to bring some down and get started, but now I realize that there isn’t much I can do until the trees go up, and that isn’t happening until this weekend.”

I chew on my bottom lip, eyeing the totes.

“We’ll put these in the guest room until I’m ready for them, and for now, the wreath can go on the front door. That’s a start, at least.”

Drew carries the totes into the guest room, stowing them out of sight in the closet, and then I hang the wreath on the door.

“There. Done for now.”

“Maybe we can work on the Lego set,” Caleb suggests, watching Drew with hopeful eyes.

“I’m down for that,” Drew replies and looks at me. “Okay with you?”

“Sure. You guys go ahead. It’s still in the game room. I have a couple of emails to send, and then I’ll be in.”

Caleb happily runs off, and when he can no longer see us, Drew tugs me against him and kisses me, hard and fast, then pushes away.

“It’s good to see you, beautiful.” He winks and follows after my kid.

“Well then.” I press my hand to my hammering heart and make my way through the kitchen to the dining room, where my computer and phone sit.

Drew is way too sexy for his own good. So far, all we’ve done is kiss. Sure, his hands roamed the last time he was here, and I can say with certainty that those hands are talented.

Really, really talented.

But I ache for more. I’m not too proud to admit that I’ve spent a moment or two getting myself off while thinking about that hot mouth and clever hands, but after weeks of flirting and banter and spending so much time together, I’m ready to get naked. Spend the whole night naked with Drew Montgomery. I mean, that sounds like one hell of a good time.

And speaking of that, I see that Quinn replied to my text earlier.

Quinn: I can totally stay the night with Caleb! Slumber party time. Doesn’t he have Friday off of school? I could stay Thursday night if you want.

I sigh in relief. Thursday is just two days away.

Me: Yes, he does have Friday off! That would actually be perfect. Thanks, Quinn!

Quinn: I’ll just head that way after class. See you around 4:00.

Satisfied that Caleb’s taken care of, I open my laptop and get to work. I have reports to read over and the never-ending emails to make my way through. Thankfully, Lucy has categorized my email for me. I gave her the login info to the business account so she can filter what’s urgent, what can wait, and what doesn’t need to be seen at all.

Lucy is now one of my favorite people in the world. I don’t know what I ever did without her. She already deserves a raise.

I can hear laughter and loud voices coming from the game room, and it makes me smile. That means the guys are having fun and getting along, which is a huge relief.

Just as I’m about to wrap up work for the day, Drew comes walking through the kitchen, his phone in his hand.

“Hey.” I grin up at him. “I’m just finished here. Quinn’s going to stay with Caleb on Thursday night. Does that work for you?”

“This Thursday? As in, the day after tomorrow?”

“That’s the Thursday in question, yes.”

“Hell yes, that works for me. Hey, I just got a text from my mom. She invited me over for dinner.”

“Oh, okay. No worries. I’ll catch up with you at work tomorrow.”

Drew’s lips twitch. “No, silly, I’m not leaving you guys. I’m wondering if you’d like to go with me. Both of you, of course.”

He blinks, watching me expectantly. Meet his parents? So soon?

“If you’d rather not, I can tell them it’s a no-go for today. No big deal.”

“Do you want me to meet your parents?”

Drew shrugs. “It’s just dinner, London. I think my mom’s making salmon.”

“You know what?” I stand, making a decision. “Salmon sounds great. I’ll tell Caleb to go wash up.”

“What does he have to wash? He seemed pretty clean to me.”

I laugh and cross to him, cupping his cheek. “Okay, I’ll go wash up. Give me fifteen minutes?”
