Harris smiles at me as Lucas tells him all the things they can do together. “I can show you my magic tricks and my LEGO collection. You can read me a book and we can paint. And you can sleep over! Mommy, can he sleep over?”
I grin as I stare at my new man. “Absolutely.”
And now I’m blushing as I think of all the things that we can do together…
CHAPTER TEN
Fiona
It’s midnight when Harris’ car pulls into my driveway. I get an excited little thrill when I see the headlights.
I turn off the lamp where I was reading and light a few candles, giving the house a sensual glow. I quickly check on Lucas—he’s sleeping—close his door, and turn on a sexy playlist.
When the front door opens, I’m standing in my robe, but what Harris doesn’t know is that I’m wearing a new piece of lacy black lingerie underneath.
We’ve been together for weeks now and it’s been incredible. I’m obsessed with this man and he’s obsessed with me. I can’t get enough of him. He stays with us as often as he can, which I really appreciate, and when he can’t make it in person, he always makes sure to video call me and Lucas.
This afternoon, I heard a man’s voice in Lucas’ room and when I went to check on him, he was sleeping on his bed with the iPad curled in his arms while Harris read him a book. I mean, how sweet is that?
Lucas and I watch every Hyenas game together. We both have our Harris Sutton jerseys and we cheer every time the camera shows our man. Most of the games finish too late for Lucas, so we have to finish them after school the next day, which is always torture. Especially during the close games, but Lucas would feel so betrayed if I finished them without him, so I never do.
Harris walks into the house and smiles warmly when he sees me.
“Now, that’s a sight to come home to,” he says as he looks me up and down.
“Wait until you see what I have on underneath,” I answer with a grin.
“Mmmmmm,” he moans as he drops his bag and comes up to me. I love how large he is. I love the masculine sound of his voice in my house. I love everything about this man.
He slides his hand into my hair, cupping the back of my head, and gives me a hot sensual kiss. I melt against his sexy lips.
“I’ll be right back,” he whispers as my chest heaves up and down with heavy breaths. “I just want to kiss my son goodnight before you get me all worked up.”
“Hurry back,” I tell him. “You’ve already gotten me all worked up.”
He grins at me as he disappears down the hall and I feel my cheeks starting to get hot. I still have trouble believing that this amazing man is into me.
I hear Lucas’ door open and then close a few seconds later.
Harris’ heated eyes are on me as he returns. “I have something to ask you.”
I hope he’s going to ask me to remove my robe because I’m dying here.
He reaches into his bag and then drops to his knee in front of me.
“Oh my god,” I gasp as my hands fly to my mouth. “Is that…?”
It is.
He opens the little purple box and reveals a large sparkling diamond ring. It’s gorgeous.
“I want to ask you something I should have asked you that first night five years ago,” he says as he looks up at me with pure love and adoration in his beautiful brown eyes. “Will you marry me, Fiona? Will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?”
Tears flood my eyes as I look down at him.
Can this be real? Can life be this good? Do dreams like this really come true?
I say the only answer there is.
“Yes, Harris. I would love to be your wife.”
He looks so happy and grateful as he looks up at me. He then takes my hand and slides the stunning ring onto my finger. I can feel the weight of it. That’s going to take some getting used to.
I look at it as my whole body hums with excitement. I can’t wait to tell my family. Oh! I can’t wait to tell Lucas! He’s going to be so thrilled that his parents are getting together.
My sexy fiancé stands up and kisses me like he’s never kissed me before.
I’m putty in his hands as he opens my robe and slides it off.
“What do we have here?” he growls as his hungry eyes roam down my body.
“A little engagement present,” I whisper with a grin.
He gives me a wolfish smile, picks me up, and carries me to the bedroom.
And then proceeds to rock my world all night long.
