It would be humorous if it wasn’t true.

But then most fathers weren’t Magnum.

When she cried out Nox’s name, any thoughts or worries about the big man were quickly washed away.

Her trembling thighs now squeezed his head as tightly as earmuffs as she bucked against him. He fucked her faster with his fingers as his tongue and lips teased and tortured her clit. Until finally he heard it… A gasp, then a long, drawn-out moan as an orgasm ripped through her.

He stayed where he was, slowing his pace but still licking and tasting the result of her climax. Still gliding his fingers in and out of her as she experienced a couple of aftershocks.

When she finally melted into the mattress, he came up for air, peering up her luscious body to see her head thrown back, her eyes closed and her lips parted with a slight curl at the corners.

He was pleased to see her chest pumping and her pulse pounding in her neck.

Proof he hadn’t lost his touch.

For fuck’s sake, he had missed the taste of a woman’s essence on his tongue. He hoped like hell it wouldn’t be almost another two years before he got to savor it again.

As long as Liyah didn’t get into a serious relationship with anyone else, maybe she wouldn’t mind doing this with him again in the future.

If it was up to him, the very near future.

She didn’t seem the type to push him toward anything serious. She understood what he was dealing with and had the patience to deal with it, too. Plus, she was independent. She owned her own house, raised her kids as a single mom, as well as started and grew a very successful business.

She did not need anyone to give her a sense of worth.

She did that all on her own.

He couldn’t imagine this woman would be clingy, would demand constant attention or would need a man to make her life complete.

Liyah bent her knees and reached out a hand, encouraging him to move over top of her. “Condom?”

Fuck.

He shook his head. “Need to grab one.” Either the one in his wallet that was still in his discarded jeans or one from the box hidden in her bathroom closet.

If they did this again, he needed to plan better.

“Luckily, I thought ahead and moved the box from the closet into the nightstand.”

“So, your invitation wasn’t off the cuff.”

She pursed her lips for a second before her lips twisted into a naughty smile. “I mean… as soon as my mother asked if the boys could stay the weekend, I thought about how I could take advantage of an empty house.”

“By taking advantage of me.”

That smile grew blinding. “One hundred percent. I expect you to take advantage of me, too.”

“Think I just did that.”

Reaching for the drawer, she told him, “But you’re not done yet.” She removed the open condom box—open because he was the one to actually open it for the first time a week ago—and pulled out a single condom.

“Open it,” he ordered.

As soon as she ripped it open, he plucked the latex disc from inside the wrapper.

“Hey, maybe I wanted to put it on you.”

“How many are left in the box?” Unless she used some in the last week, which he doubted, ten should remain.

She made a big show of peeking into the box. “Plenty for tonight.”

“How about for in the morning?”

“Someone has some lofty ambitions. I doubt we’ll burn through what will be left.”

“Maybe. Maybe not. We’ll see.”

She wiggled her eyebrows. “I like your enthusiasm.”

He offered her the condom. With a grin, she sat up, took it and whispered, “Come here.”

He shuffled closer on his knees and when she grabbed his throbbing cock, his hips jerked. But she made short work of rolling on the condom and then inspecting her handiwork.

“Now...” she started.

“You good with me being on top?”

“Absolutely.”

“Good.” He pushed her shoulder gently and she flopped back onto the bed with a giggle.

That giggle actually made him smile.

In truth, it wasn’t just her giggle. It was everything about her.

Chapter Twenty-Six

With a groan, Nox rolled onto his side and opened his eyes.

Only to find Aaliyah gone.

So much for his plans on having sex with her again this morning.

Then it hit his nostrils.

A pork product. Possibly sausage.

Some sort of carbs. His nose twitched. His best guess was pancakes.

And of course, coffee.

She was making breakfast.

He rolled again and snagged his cell phone off the nightstand to check the time.

Holy shit. It was already nine. He hadn’t slept that solidly in…

A long time.

His gaze caught the knocked-over condom box. Nine remained after using two last night. Depending what time she kicked his ass out the door today, they might have time to use another one.

If he could convince her into giving him one for the road.

After yanking on his jeans, he hit the bathroom to do his business, wash his face, and utilize the toothbrush he brought along in his rucksack.
