For now.

The second the bottomless pits walked through the door, they would head directly to the kitchen, then sniff out and eat half of what was supposed to last all week. Her own stomach hurt simply remembering Devyn inhaling a large meat-lovers pizza all by himself a few weeks ago.

Like it had been a damn snack.

Her hips and ass would be twice their size if she ate like that. That was, if she didn’t throw up first.

Of course, she hadn’t heard from the elusive Nox since he’d sprinted out her door. But then, she didn’t reach out to him, either. She figured she’d give him time to process what occurred. And to forgive himself for whatever sin he thought he committed. Most likely the sin of cheating on a memory.

The quiet weekend quickly came to an end when she heard the roar of Harley straight pipes pulling in her driveway.

She frowned. It was hours earlier than they were expected. Even though she didn’t get a call or text first, something had to be wrong.

She rushed to the front door and flung it open to see two bad-ass Harleys instead of one. She groaned at who was straddling that second bike.

Romeo.

The Dark Knights’ president.

And the MC’s resident horn-dog.

If a woman was wearing pants, he’d do everything in his power to get down them. If she was wearing a skirt, he’d turn on the charm to get up it.

Hence his road name.

The man didn’t stick with a woman for more than the time it took to pull his jeans down, stick his dick in, shoot his load and pull his jeans back up.

For Romeo, that was a long-term relationship.

The man thought he was “all that” and a bag of fucking chips.

A bag of chips filled with mostly air.

She sighed as she slipped her feet into the flip flops she kept near the front door and headed out to greet her sons.

And those other two.

Tweedle-Do and Tweedle-Don’t.

She had her invisible flirt-resistant armor locked in place by the time she reached the testosterone-filled driveway.

“Hey, Ali-Cat,” Romeo purred with his deep brown eyes raking over her from head to toe.

She gave him the “palm” and a sharp, “No.”

Now she needed another shower.

He raised his eyebrows and donned a faux hurt expression. “Only sayin’ hey.”

“Mmm hmm. Not interested, Romeo. Sniff elsewhere.”

“But you smell so damn good.”

Her eyes flicked to Devyn. Her oldest was grinning. She really didn’t want Romeo rubbing off on him. She wasn’t thrilled that he’d been on the back of Romeo’s bike, either.

She glanced at her father. Magnum knew all of that and masked his own expression.

She shook her head. “Boys, go in the house. I need to speak with Grumpa.”

Romeo snorted whenever she called Magnum that.

“But, Mom—”

“No lip. Get inside like your momma told you,” Magnum grumbled at Keenan.

Her youngest’s face twisted and he dragged his feet all the way into the house.

“You, too,” Liyah told her oldest when he continued to stand next to a man he should not be emulating.

“See ya, Rome, Grumps.”

Romeo shot Devyn a huge grin and gave him a two-finger salute. “Got a prospect cut ready for you. Just don’t grow too much more or it won’t fit.”

“Devyn…”

“I’m going, Mom!” he yelled and jogged to the house.

Once both boys were inside and the door shut behind them, she turned to face Magnum. “Had to bring backup, didn’t you? Just in case my visitor was still here? I also noticed that you brought them back earlier than normal.”

Her father wanted to catch Nox still at the house.

“Just wanted the fucker to know who’s got your back.”

“He’s not a fucker and he already knows you’re protective of me, Dad. Anyway, I don’t think he’s afraid of you. And for the millionth time, I’ll remind you that I’m almost forty and not a teenager only starting to date.”

“So, you’re fuckin’ datin’ him,” Magnum growled.

“No, I’m not. He stopped by to drop off that container.”

“That takes a fuckin’ minute. The fucker was still hangin’ around when I left.”

“He sure was.”

“Who you got doin’ you, woman?” Romeo asked. “Whoever it is, I can do better.”

“No, you can’t.”

“You give me a chance, I’ll fuckin’ prove it to you.” Romeo wiggled his eyebrows.

“You can keep your cold sores and crabs to yourself, thank you very much.”

Liyah stifled a laugh at seeing his indignant expression.

“Don’t got crabs or cold sores.”

“Maybe not today. Tomorrow’s another story.”

“Man, Ali-Cat, you’re always playin’ hard to get.”

She ignored him and leaned in to plant a kiss on her father’s cheek. “Thanks for taking the boys this weekend.”

“Romeo’s interested,” Magnum mumbled as she pulled away.

Liyah rolled her eyes and shook her head. She turned to give Romeo her back and kept her voice low. “Romeo is interested in every woman. Period. And I can’t believe you’re encouraging me to hook up with him. Forget the fact that he’s the president of the Knights, he’s a damn dog who sniffs every hydrant. He’s not selective. Or loyal. And as you well know, I already had one man skip out on me.”
