“I might stage a revolt if you didn’t.”

The barest hint of a smirk touched his mouth, and he ripped my sweater over my head, mouth descending back to mine as his palms slid around and unclasped my bra.

Tingles spread as he drew down the straps, and he stepped away for one heated instant to remove it.

Ezra reached out and flicked his thumbnail over my left nipple. I bowed. “So fucking gorgeous, Savannah. If you had the first clue what I feel when I look at you. How perfect you are to me.”

“No man has ever affected me the way you do, Ezra.”

I fumbled at the button of his jeans, but before I could get it freed, Ezra had me hoisted up again and was tossing me onto the bed. I bounced against the mattress, and he approached, a shadow who loomed over me.

My heart pounded wildly.

But it wasn’t in fear or reservation.

It was just because I knew.

Taking me by the ankle, he undid the laces of my tennis shoe and pulled it and my sock off before he turned to do the same with the other. Then he leaned over me, flicking the button of my jeans and dragging down the zipper.

My hips arched from the bed, rising up to allow him to peel them down my legs. He took my underwear with them, and I gasped and shivered as I lay there completely bare.

Ezra’s eyes turned molten, the brown swirling with lust.

“Let me see you,” he demanded.

I didn’t hesitate. I propped my feet on the bed and spread my knees.

He didn’t either. He shoved two fingers inside me. I gasped, hips arching again, the intrusion perfect but not nearly enough.

“You’re soaked, Savannah.”

“Because I need you.”

“That’s a good thing because you’re about to have me.”

Ezra took a step away from the bed, and he knelt and undid his boots before he slowly rose and kicked them off. Without looking away, he flicked the button of his jeans that I hadn’t been able to loose, and the sound of him dragging down his zipper echoed against the walls.

A second later, he had his jeans and briefs shoved down around his thighs.

His cock huge and jutting toward the ceiling. The head engorged and throbbing. The veins pronounced.

“Ezra,” I mumbled, half delirious, the man so gorgeous where he stood over me, his massive frame covering me in shadow.

His outline was a perfect hedge of protection. Shoulders wide and hulking, his abdomen a landscape of quivering muscles that flexed beneath sun-kissed skin. A chest so solid you’d think the man impenetrable if it wasn’t for the softness I knew was hidden underneath.

The man a living statue of carved gold.

“You’re different than any man I’ve ever met, Ezra. I’m not supposed to feel safe with anyone, but I feel safe with you.” The admission tumbled from my trembling tongue, and I didn’t regret it when I let it go.

It was offered freely.

Truly.

The same as I imparted the next.

“You’re everything I couldn’t believe existed and everything I’ve come to need.”

That honey gaze softened, and there was something so tender beneath his rigid body when he set a knee on the bed and crawled over me. He used one hand to prop himself up and the other slid beneath my neck. That thumb traced the angle of my jaw as he stared down at me. “And you, Little Trespasser, stole into every place I wasn’t supposed to let you go.”

Our confessions whispered around us. Tendrils of this connection that wound and claimed.

He shifted and smoothed a palm down the outside of my leg, spreading me wider to make a place for himself between my thighs.

Flames crackled and that energy leapt.

He eased himself down enough to bring us chest to chest. Our hearts flew, a manic beat that drummed at the walls.

“I told you that I didn’t think I could handle the feel of you around my cock, Savannah, but what I can’t handle is not being inside you for a second longer.”

His words provoked a moan from deep inside me. “I need you. I need all of you.”

As long as the confessions were flying free, I saw no point in suppressing this one.

Edging back, he dug into his nightstand and pulled out a box of condoms.

“I hope you don’t think it presumptuous, but I bought these this week, hoping one day I might get to have you like this. That you’d trust me enough to give yourself to me this way.”

God, it was so sweet, the way he looked at me that it shattered through the last piece of the hardened, mangled pieces of my heart.

“I do. I trust you.” It was a ragged breath that I issued toward the ceiling.

Praise maybe.

Relief.

Because I knew it, that he would never hurt me. Would never use me the way others had.
