“It’s been a busy time for both of us, I’ve been in Europe as you know.” Mel nods at her, moving her hair to her other shoulder. “And Courtney’s been busy in the studio.” She screams and holds up her arm as the crowd behind her cheers so loud, even if the bitch reporter wanted to say anything else, she couldn’t. We both smile and move on down the line.

“God, you’re fucking good.” Grabbing ahold of her hand as she smiles and keeps waving at the fans as I glance over to Rachel, she’s busy talking on the side with Rafe and people who look like PAs since they have badges and earbuds on.

“Courtney, you look so beautiful. Where’s Ammo?” The questions just keep getting fired at me, I feel like I’m dragging Melanie trying my hardest not to get hit by their words.

In a way, having Ace behind me is rather comforting. Not only is he giant-sized, he also represents Ammo, and I like that, even if it’s ridiculous.

“Courtney, can we ask you a few questions?” I just smile and keep walking, trying to pretend like I’m moving the back of my gown out of others way, and that’s why I’m ignoring them, rather than dealing with the claustrophobic panic that I’m battling.

Just get me inside repeats over and over in my head as I try yet again to take a deep breath.

“Holy shit.” Melanie squeals at the man who has snuck up behind her, and there goes my heart.

I have got to relax as I watch, almost paralyzed with fear, as Nuke, the drummer of The Stuffed Muffins, spins her around as she laughs and hugs him.

The hell? She never told me she knows Nuke. I saw him the other day at Granger’s party, but didn’t actually meet him.

“Marry me.” He places her hand on his bare chest, because as per usual, Nuke is shirtless. He is wearing a red suede suit jacket with black leather jeans.

Jesus, the man has zero fashion sense, but who cares because he’s incredibly sexy. Tall, lean, covered in tattoos, dark hair that’s shaved on the side.

I can see why everyone goes crazy for him. He’s got that exciting, damaged thing going on.

“You wish. Where’s your deadbeat friend?” She laughs, throwing her arms around his neck as thankfully, the paparazzi latch onto them.

“Let’s go.” Ace is at my right arm propelling me toward a man who’s leaning casually on a pillar watching me in the corner before the entrance.

And if I thought I was breathless before, the adrenaline that’s just spiked through my body actually makes me stumble.

And he moves like Prince Charming, only tan and covered in tattoos.

“You.” I cling to his black tailored suit jacket as he grins and looks over my head, like he’s making sure I’m okay.

“Where have you been?” I snap, blinking up at him as my heart races and stomach dips.

“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he growls in my ear, completely ignoring my question, but at this point I’m addicted to him. So why try to fight it since my body instantly responds as my pussy clenches and becomes wet.

“How long have you been watching?”

“A while.” He grunts, holding out his hand, and the reality that I’m clinging to him at the entrance causes all the attention now to be turned on us if the screams and flashes of cameras are any indication.

“Breathe, baby,” Ammo demands, moving behind me, his warm hands pulling my body that’s pretty much gone limp into his hard chest.

I let him. I need his strength to get me through this. My face tilts up as I smile and laugh with him. Ammo answers the questions. To be honest, I’m impressed I’m even smiling. God, how on Earth am I going to perform? I’m already wiped out just getting through the red carpet as Ammo pulls me toward the entrance, just as a new barrage of people attack us.

“Courtney. My love, you need to get backstage, you’re late.” A small man not much bigger than me walks by my side as Ammo keeps pushing us through the people who seem to have multiplied.

“Back up.” Ammo holds his hands up to the mob, as Ace goes into full security mode, and we somehow make it into the back area toward the green room. Everything is just moving too fast, I can’t keep up.

“Go,” Ace yells, holding open the green room door as Ammo gets us inside, and Julie and Alberto instantly go straight toward me.

“Hold on, give her a second,” Ammo demands as his eyes caress my face. “You okay?”

“I don’t think I can do this,” I wheeze out, my eyes darting to Alberto who is already holding the new gown I’m going to perform in, while Julie stands by with Lucy, wanting to get ahold of my face.
