There were nights I would close my eyes and think about the stranger who visited. It was in those moments I lost myself to pleasure while wishing that one day I’d be with him. The man of my dreams.

“Come here, Lucky,” he commands in a tone that tells me not to argue.

My feet carry me effortlessly to where he’s lying, and I kick my own shoes off as Sully offers me a hand. I accept, and as I tangle my fingers with his, he pulls me toward him until I’m straddling his hips.

Even though we’re both in jeans, I can feel his hardness, and I’m pretty sure he can feel my warmth. There’s no denying that we missed each other. But he doesn’t rush. There are gentle touches as his fingertips trail down my bare arms, causing goosebumps to rise over every inch of me. There’s no fighting what’s about to happen, and I realize there’s no denying our love any longer.

Slowly, teasingly, he hooks his thumbs into the straps of my tank top and pushes them off my shoulders. The material slips down over my curves, and my skin blazes from the look in his eyes. Desire-filled warmth emanates from him, and I lean down to press my lips to his.

“Ye’re an exquisite wee thing, Lucky,” Sully mumbles against the corner of my mouth. Then, his fingers tangle in my hair, and he pulls my head back before he finally attacks my neck. He kisses, bites, and sucks the flesh hard until I’m whimpering, and I realize I’m grinding against his crotch.

Sully doesn’t speak as he moves his lips down from my neck to my exposed nipple and captures the hardened bud into his mouth. I squeal when his teeth graze along the sensitive peak, and I whimper when he suckles it gently to soothe the bite. His beard sends tingles through every inch of me as I tremble in his arms.

He looks up at me, a small smile tilting his perfectly full lips. “I think I need ta remind ye who ye belong to. Don’t I, wee thing?”

EPILOGUE

CLOVER

Over the years, I’ve learned how temporary life is.

We all walk through life thinking we have time. Most people believe tomorrow will come, and for most, it does. But we can’t tell the future. We don’t know when we’ll take our final breaths. I’ve come to realize the most important thing is to live your life so that when you’re gone, you are remembered by those left behind. Remembered with love and affection because that will leave a legacy for years to come.

Nothing in this world is assured. No matter how carefully you live your life, it’s not guaranteed to always keep you safe. My father believed you had to live each day as if it was your last. Pushing Sully away made me see he wasn’t going anywhere. He knocked down walls to keep me from making a mistake. Even though he killed, he did it for a good reason. That’s how I look at it. He wanted to save his mother from being hurt, and in my book, that makes him a noble man.

Life has forced me to face the truth—love is unconditional.

I glance out of the window and see the men all looking smart. It makes me smile. The Royal Bastards look so handsome as they stand there in their leather cuts and black denim jeans. And I can only imagine how breathtaking Sully must look in his similar outfit. It’s a rehearsal for tomorrow when I’ll walk down the aisle and recite my vows.

I walked out of this life when I was younger. My father left a club to me, and I didn’t want it. Yet, here I am, walking back into one. Only this time I’m not alone.

The man I’m marrying tomorrow is not like the one that I’ve run from in the past. Sully is nothing like Rogan. Which is a good thing because I don’t think I would be able to survive going through something like that ever again.

I turn and head for the door. Taking the stairs, I smile when I reach the entrance hall where friends are still arriving for the party. It’s only a rehearsal, but the house is full. I head outside to where the Royal Bastards have congregated, and my eyes seek out the man who’s captured my heart.

“You’re perfect,” Sully says to me as I stop beside him.

The roar of the bikes is deafening when he leans in to kiss me. It’s not even our wedding day, yet they’re as excited as we are.

I made the choice to move here permanently, and the club has welcomed me into their family. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful father until he was taken from me. I had the unconditional love of a parent, which is what every child should have, but I never felt fully myself when I was back in the States. It wasn’t as if I’d found love or true happiness there.
