I think about Remy, and every time I do, a shiver runs through my body.
I wonder if he’d be up for round two tonight?
I pull out my phone and text him. I have his number due to work, so it’s a win win, really.
G – What are your thoughts on round two?
It takes him a minute to reply, but when he does, my legs tremble a little.
R – I’m ready. Where are you?
Oh boy.
G – Wildflowers.
R – Go out back.
I stand, and with a wicked grin, I look at the girls. “I’ve got a date.”
Eve’s eyes widen. “Girl, what?”
I show them the message.
Ramona squeals. “Girl, you’re bad. I love it. Go and get that man. Get him.”
Poppy chuckles. “You’re a devil, I wish I had that drive. You better come back in here and tell us how it goes.”
“Oh, I will.”
I take my phone, my vodka, and I walk out the back of Wildflowers. I stand against the wall and wait, sipping my drink. A minute later, Remy rounds the corner with a drink and a smoke in his hand. Something about that combination makes my heart skip a beat. He’s so bad ass, and yet so charmingly gorgeous. It’s hard to define the two.
“You going to share that?” I murmur, staring at the cigarette.
He walks over, bringing it up to my lips. I take a long inhale and breathe it out slowly, watching as he does the same.
“Never been requested for twice in one night,” he tells me, eyes hooded.
“You haven’t met me then, I can go more, believe me.”
“Don’t have more to give after this, babe.”
I laugh. “We’ll wait until morning then.”
He grins. “Doubtful.”
He leans in close, hand clasping my side, pulling me to him. He flicks the cigarette after taking one last inhale, bringing his mouth close to mine so I can suck in the smoke that slowly trickles from his lips. God damn I want to kiss him, I never want to kiss anyone but right now, I could easily get lost in his lips.
“You ever been fucked against a wall?” he murmurs.
“I can’t say I have.”
“Well, you’re about to be.”
“Remy?”
The sound of a voice calling his name has us both pausing, it’s a female and, by the sound of it, the same one he was with at the club. He exhales.
“If we don’t breathe, maybe she’ll go away?” I whisper.
He grunts. “Doubt it.”
“Remy, I saw you come behind here. Are you here?”
“Fuck me,” he growls.
“I guess we’ll take a raincheck,” I murmur.
“Looks like we have to.”
He turns his head to the side and kisses my neck in a way that has my entire body trembling. “Catch you later, babe.”
He takes a step back and disappears.
Well then.
Consider me completely fucked.

“GABRIELLA!”
I open my eyes to my father’s angry voice. It takes me a moment to focus enough to see him staring down at me, an angry expression on his face. He’s waving around his phone, glaring at me.
“God, Dad, what?” I groan, head pounding after last night’s effort.
“What the fuck is this crap you sent me?”
“Names, numbers, locations, what the hell else do you want?”
He looks like he’s going to bust a cap, so I sit up slowly.
“These are names and numbers of his fucking clients! For the garage.”
Oh.
Well.
Whoopsie.
“Oops,” I mutter. “They were in the office at the club, how was I supposed to know?”
“You think he’s just going to keep important shit lying around? You have to actually put a god damned effort in. I knew you’d fuck this up. You’re not with it enough to pull this off. You’re done.”
I sit upright now, angry, and a little worried about him kicking me out before I can prove myself.
“Firstly, I’m not done!” I snap. “I’ll do better, I will.”
“I doubt that. I should have sent someone else in.”
“Who?” I mutter. “Becky? She’s still crying after her last effort. Bradley? Oh yeah, he won’t stand out at all with that giant stick hanging out of his ass. I’m the only one, and you know it. I’ll do better, give me twenty-four hours and I’ll have something worthy.”
“I want names and numbers of who they’re trading with. I run this fucking town and those bikers are causing more problems than I need. Get those to me in twenty-four hours or I’m pulling you out.”
Ugh.
“Yes, Father,” I mutter, rubbing my temples.
“I thought you weren’t drinking and partying anymore?”
I give him a glare. “I am getting information from a biker club, how else do you think I’m going to do that without attending that sort of stuff? I can’t just walk into the clubhouse and be like, oh hey, can I have some info?”
His face goes a little less hard, because he has to know I’m right.
“Check the office at the garage, it’s got less traffic and is locked up better; if he’s going to hide shit, it would be there. The club has too many visitors, and it’s too risky to keep things where people could see them.”
