Finally satisfied, his bear slinks back down. His body returns to its normal size as his hips slow to a soft easy rhythm, sliding in and out of me as he kisses every inch of my neck.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers as he kisses the tingling spot that now feels incredible.
I touch it with a trembling hand and my fingers steady. I’ll always be his. I have his mark on me now. He’s laid his claim.
This couldn’t be more perfect.
“It’s okay,” I whisper back. “I wanted it as much as you did. I just didn’t know it.”
He’s still hard inside of me and neither of us are close to being done.
It’s looking like another incredible afternoon with Cameron before we’re interrupted with a loud banging on my front door that startles me, but just angers him.
He looks expectantly at me and I just shrug.
“I don’t know who it is.”
He climbs off the bed and throws his pants on with a frustrated grunt.
I’m clutching the sheets to my chest as I watch him go to the door.
“Oh, hell no!” he hollers when he looks through the peephole.
With a growl, he yanks the door open.
And all hell breaks loose.
Chapter Nine
Cameron
My bear’s rage fuels my own as I glare at the three shocked faces staring back at me. They know they fucked up. Made a bad decision. Possibly a fatal decision if it’s up to my grizzly bear.
There’s a savage pounding in my ears as my heart ferociously pumps adrenaline through my veins. My fists clench. My teeth grind. All I can think about is destroying these men who have tried to take what’s mine twice now.
An edgy, twitchy feeling takes over as the closest of the three tiger shifters steps back from me with wide eyes.
Kill them.
Maul them.
My bear’s not into talking things out. Especially when it comes to our mate’s safety. He wants them dead. Any threat to our girl has to be eliminated. Permanently.
“Is Willow here?” one of them stupidly asks.
Hearing my girl’s sweet name on their vile lips makes me snap.
I just marked her and that possessiveness is still running fresh through my veins. It’s making me want to do violent things. Crazy things. Things that I might regret later if it gets me in trouble with the Sheriff.
“You don’t say her name,” I hiss through clenched teeth. “Ever.”
He gulps as I step forward into the hallway and close the door.
“Back off,” one of them says as my bear snarls loud enough for them to hear. “There’s three of us and only one of you.”
“But I’m fighting for my mate,” I growl back. “That’s always worth ten pathetic shifters trying to scare an innocent girl.”
They don’t say anything back. They know I’m right.
I’d take on the whole planet and win for Willow. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to keep my precious mate safe. And let’s not even get started on what my wild untamed bear would do for this girl that has our mark glowing on her neck.
She’s our obsession and nobody is going to take her away from us. I’ll kill anyone who tries.
“She’s your mate?” one of them squeaks with a gulp.
“Yeah,” I growl as I whip my head to glare at him. “She is. And you’re trying to take her.”
My bear can’t handle it anymore. I feel his rage taking over and I feed into it.
The closest guy gasps as I grab him and slam my punishing fist into his pathetic face. I crack him three times before his two friends leap onto me. One wraps his arm around my neck. The other starts trying to hit me in the face.
I let go of their friend and he falls to the floor with a bloody nose, a split lip, and with his eyes rolling into the back of his head.
After that, I just let my instincts take over.
I grab the arm around my neck and slam the guy into the floor. I keep him down with my boot.
The third guy hits me a few times, but I’m so jacked up with adrenaline and with the need to protect my sweet angel that I don’t even feel it. He feels my punches though. That’s for sure.
It’s already loud and chaotic in the hallway, but it gets even worse when the tigers start popping out.
My bear is itching for me to release him, but I’m a greedy bastard and these three punks are all mine.
The tigers rush forward, snapping their jaws and throwing deadly claws at me. I dart around them and start landing punches and kicks. The sound of their whimpers and whelps echoes down the hallway as I make them all pay for their hostile intentions.
I grab one tiger by the neck and start to choke him out when another jumps on my back and sinks his teeth into my shoulder. With a growl, I grab him with one hand and throw him into the oak door in front of us. He slams through it and the old lady in the apartment who’s watching a game show way too loud turns and stares at us in shock as a tiger slides into her living room.
