She stares at me, face scrunched, then she turns to Remy and hisses, “I didn’t know you were working with women who look like her.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” I yell.

Remy shakes his head, grin still on his face. “Go wait at the bar, I’ll be there soon,” he tells his woman.

“Why?”

“Just do it, yeah?”

With a glare, she walks off. Remy reaches out and takes my arm, pulling me from the line.

“Wait, I really need to pee.”

“There’s another toilet.”

Say what?

All this time I’ve been waiting in line and there is another toilet?

How rude.

He walks me down the hall, and to the left we go through a door that he unlocks with a key he just pulls right on out of his pocket. We step inside to a large office. Ah, makes sense. Of course this is locked, it is probably filled with illegal trading that they don’t want everyone to see, but it’s something I really, really want to see. Right now, though, I have other things I am thinking about.

Like peeing.

I rush to the toilet he points to and it’s sweet, sweet relief. When I’m done, I wash my hands and check I don’t yet look like a drunken rat. I don’t, my makeup is still in place and my hair is good. I straighten my tight, black dress and then turn, walking out.

Remy is sitting on the sofa, beer in hand, waiting. He glances over at me when I walk out. “Good?”

“You’re a damned life saver, thank you.”

I sit down beside him on the sofa, leaning back. “You got another one of those?”

He stands and walks over to a fridge that’s in the corner beside the desk. He pulls out a beer. If I were a big powerful biker, and I had my own office, I’d have a fridge full of beer too. Because why the hell wouldn’t you?

He hands me the beer and sits back down. I open it and take a sip. I’ve already had one too many, but I’m not working tomorrow so I figure I can let go a little.

“What do you think of the party? Does it live up to all your expectations?”

“Well, there is one thing I haven’t seen yet,” I say, glancing at him.

“Do I dare ask?”

“Eve promised me that you see people fucking as the night goes on, like crazy drunken sex. I’m up for that.”

“The sex or the watching?” he asks me, half smirk on his gorgeous face.

“Oh, both, but mostly watching because I’ve never watched someone have sex, and I can only imagine how hilarious it would be when they’re drunk.”

“Hang around, you’ll see it,” he murmurs, “as for the other half of the equation ...”

I tip my head to the side and look at him. “Are you propositioning me? As my boss, I don’t think that’s very professional.”

He grins. “I’m not your boss yet, and I’m certain you don’t have a problem with it.”

“Oh, I don’t, it’s you who should be second guessing your decision.”

“Why’s that?”

I take a sip of my beer. “Well, I’m crazy, for one.”

“Crazy is good in bed.”

“Fair call. I’m also a little wild, sometimes air headed and when I want to fuck, I want to fuck like right now. I don’t like to wait.”

He chuckles. “I think I can handle that.”

“So, what are you suggesting?”

“We fuck. It’s pretty simple.”

“Oh, but it isn’t,” I point out. “There is a lot more than that. Do we fuck once, do we fuck twice, are you bending me over cars in the garage? I need to know all of these things.”

His eyes grow hooded and my god, it’s one hell of a turn on.

“We fuck whenever we feel like fucking, no attachments, that’s that. Unless you’re a girl who gets attached, in which case we fuck once and be done with it.”

“I’ve never been attached to a single thing in my life,” I tell him, my face stern.

It’s the damned truth. I’ve never been in love. I don’t get jealous. I rarely get hurt. I just shut down and leave, that’s how I am. It’s not a good trait, but it’s a trait I’m more than familiar with. I haven’t spoken to my best friend because she slept with Rhett and lied to me about it. While I miss her and at times it hurts, my stubborn pride will allow me to never see her again, if that’s how it has to be.

“All women tell me that, and yet with you, I fuckin’ believe it.”

I shrug. “I say it how it is, and if it isn’t the truth, I simply don’t say it. I’m not here to fall in love, Remy, I’m not here to form attachments and get hurt. I’m just here for fun.”

“I can give you fun.”

“Well, I’m still sitting here waiting, and as yet, you’ve done nothing to prove that to me.”
